Its not just Online or the RNG

edited July 2011 in Area 51

Made a lot of comments myself about the standard of play ect on here but heres a bad beat story from last night at the casino to make people feel better about the RNG which i do NOT have an issue with.

Sat in big with Ace king £1 £2 blinds with £120 behind

3rd to last pops it to £12 then gets raised to £25
I call

Flop queen high checked all round

Turn King checked to me

£40 bet

Push all in 2nd to act folds

I call

He shows king jack another player announced jack folded hes drawing to 2 jacks

River jack

It happpens everywhere.........

Just another point later on there were two in pre flop for theit last £25 each 7s vs 9s

Ended up quad 7s beat full house with 9 on river

    Not just online.............

No one said it was bud, dont think my AK hits the muck quick enough in your seat there (or I simply ship it pre) though for 18% of stack.

Was playing 50/1 on thursday and saw flopped quads 3 hands out of 7, uber rare.

If table was tight my ace king widda been mucked or pushed. Table was very loose.

I definately shove pre then, but I know what you mean, sit at a fair few of those myself :p

Thing was cos table was loose he wudda prob called anyway. If hes willing to go £25 with king jack off hell go £100 (his stack)....ho hum

Yeah I had this debate with Lol raise awhile back, arguing your corner - in that am not paticularly happy to race £150bbs pre with perhaps 2 people calling pretty wide ie all the paint combos and worse (was once called allin in two spots for 160 bigs - massive 3 bet by me - by 75o and 28o.

In theory you love it, but its an unpleasant way to play.

But as usual Lol Raise was right, you will make money in long run, you just have to get used to going to flop with no insurance with best non pair hand, knowing your miles ahead vast vast majority of time.

I hate it too though vs non dominated hands.

I know what u mean. As a rule I dont play ace king / ace queen so much in cash games live knowing normal rules dont apply ie: pocket 8s etc move all in on you. The shame was I knew theyd been playin loose cards and called. Was happy when the king hit then gutted on river as u say long run ill win lots more flips than i lose just gotta take deep breath and move on from beats
