Would spice things up a bit!

Seriously though, may be fun to play in a tourney where the hand rankings changed periodically - keep peeps on their toes - or making different suits have higher/lower values, eg AKs outranking AKh

for example on board JJ774 with both oppos holding an Ace - which is the higher rank would win pot

Vikki Coren wrote about a home game she used to play where a second river card was dealt. Play as normal upto the river and  you could then bet again according to the sixth card . She didn't go into details about how it worked exactly but said it was very popular.
