0.25/0.50 river decision with flush

edited July 2011 in The Poker Clinic
villain is a fish who regularly donates to these games.  he has a tendency to call a lot and spew very easily.  loves limping pre flop in any position.  has shown no real signs of being tricky but he does limp pocket pairs which is extremely relevant to this hand.  i am playing quite tight as i have not had a raise all night that has not been called immediately on my left.  have not overbet the pot at all but have donk led many flops with villain the last one before this he reraised and i folded with air.

raise preflop, about 6bbs total i think. id probably lead out this flop aswell barreling big cards/diamonds.

i think folding is out of the question, and i would lean towards flat calling.

you overbet the river and get raised which looks pretty strong. bad players tend to play lots of Ax suited hands. and quite a few of the suited connector hands are blocked by the 6d,7d being on the board. however theres also the possibility that he has a straight/trips/random spew so i would call

Have to raise preflop surely, why wouldn't you ?

Good flop to cbet so I would around 60% pot.

Tunr brings diamond draw so can bet again.

River how you've played it just call on paired board and without nut flush.

thanks for the feedback....looks like my mistake was to not raise pre flop.

it doesnt matter if he calls or folds. what matters is you making the right decision
