How long have you been on sky....

edited July 2011 in Poker Chat

Here is something different from the RGN is fixed and the software is broken, How long have you been a sky member, and any other comments on sky other than the RNG…

It’s a NUMBER live with it….. Trust me you get the same bad beats on other sites..

Well back to the above topic I have been on sky since a month or two after it started, I came across it during the demise of Poker night live, I did at first come close to having to reload……pennies it was that close. But got lucky an I do mean lucky, in those days I managed to cash in the open as it was, and some how have not looked back since.

I have how managed to improve my game, and now can say that I have beaten TK heads up… that was nice. And finale tabled a few times.

My best to date was second in the primo in September last year, but now days play bingo poker, with the bingo players that appear from time to time.

Feel free to add or comment.

No bad beats, no RNG problems, or software getting tired of how the site sucks, or supports other players…..sky is no better or worst than other sites, and one thing to make note of any RNG, still has a fix Constance of 52 to deal with at the end of the day, a random number no matter how random, will always in the world of poker still have to deal with 52 cards, good or bad that’s life.

I play bingo cash upto nl20 (or nl50 depending on how drunk I am!!) and have been on sky for a couple of years after playing it via the telebox for a few months with mates!!!

Been in the forums since TKO I as it was the only opportunity I had to find out the score before the show days later (I'm not known for my patience)

I suck at tourneys cause I play them like cash.

Considering the amount of time you've been playing here I recon you should have been more involved in the forums ;o))

    Nice post GG

i`v been on site couple years now, cashed a few deepstacks as i prefer mtt`s, occoasonally wander over to cash, so i guess i`m an ok player for those that knows me ( i never moan ) lol, also try to have comical banter in chat box when playing normally saying what wife has boobed again, and hopefully sooner rather than later i`d get the big m/e win,

Been on Sky since it started when i played .5/.10 and low sngs. Built up bankroll over the years and generally now play .50/1 and the high dyms.

I was an original blogger when the forum started too.

I've been on Sky since it 1st started. I started off playing £1 and £2 MTT's. Won a bit, lost a bit, withdrew a bit, deposited a bit etc etc.

I decided after a while I would deposit £120 and I would play proper bankroll management. This worked well and I steadily got my roll up.

People say there is a key moment in peoples lives that changes everything. Mine in terms of poker was in an open one night. It was a straight forward £11 freezeout. About 100 runners left, I was mid stacked, it had folded to me on the SB with 88, I shoved all in and was called by AA in the BB. Flop A,x,x ... then amazingly turn 8, river 8!! I went on to win it and it made a huge difference to my BR and the level of games I could play.

Shortly after that I played SPT Swansea and came 3rd for about £700. Around this time Sky introduced a £22 deepstack which I was now well rolled for, I won this quite a few times and FT'd regularly. Since then I've never looked back and have still not deposited anymore on here since that £120 about 3 years ago.

This time last year I started to grind cash. I was playing up to 9 tables @ 50nl. I was getting good results and a lot of rakeback. At the start of the year though I hit the bad spell and couldn't win a pot. At the level and quantity I was playing, this gets very expensive!! I took a break for about 2 months not really playing. I then decided about 3 weeks ago I would come back but playing mainly MTT's. 1st day back I won the main event (run better!!), the 2nd day I came 2nd in TSP. So all is forgotten and I'm now loving poker again.

    Hi

Nice post and like the others said, more forum contribution from noe on please!!

Been playing about 4 years on Sky, mainly £1 and £2 MTT and STT, always had about a 15% ROI so not exactly pulling up trees but i have significantly improved and now play at a level of £5/£11 MTT/SNG

Developed my Omaha and PL08 games on here and do OK at those

I go to nearly all the SPT events and consider myself a far better Live player than Internet player, I have over £5000 winnings live (Hendon Mob only shows the 3 lowest!!), the best being a £900 win at SPT Newcastle.

Been to vegas 3 times with 2 x break even trips and the last one +EV !!

Only play a few times a week on Sky now and low stakes, try to use satellites to get into the bigger events and keep entering those Sky competitions as there are a lot of free seats around to win!!

Been here about 4 x months. Knew nothing about poker before but came across it on 865 and got interested/hooked.  Started off 30p DYM's, migrated to a few tourneys and am really enjoying it.  Feel I have improved a lot but prob just need to play lots more.
The clinic has been where I've learnt the most.  I watch a LOTTT of poker.  The other night I picked a pro and followed his EVERY hand over 4 hours until he won (which looked unlikely 2 hrs in!)   I learnt a lot from that.

Bit of a ramble but you did ask!

I have tried to post before and did post more last year, but owning your own business tends to take up more of my time, and it a business that does not allow me to enter for the SPT event, I would love too, but my busy time is the weekends, but will try.

Only thought this up while reading all the post in Area 51, saying the site is fixed, broken etc….. And how other sites are better, I play on quite a few and the beats are the same, you see the same unlucky breaks.

And thought I would see how long people have been around, you can see when people first posted on here, but not when they signed up,  FlashFlush I also had a break about 18 months ago for a few months, it seamed as if I could not win a game even if I was the only one  playing… and then came back and the space of a two weeks beat TK, second in primo, and won a deep stack, I don’t think the software had fallen in love with me….. But who knows………………….
