Fantasy Open League

I'm guessing this will work by assigning players nominal purchase values, and giving us all a budget to buy (say) 10 players. Thus everyone can't pick Glitterbabe LOLUFOLD and jaegerbomb, they'd have to also pick up a couple of bargain basement numpties like Young_gun and Eyeman. Correct?

    To co-incide with the new football season and various fantasy football leagues starting up, I will be running a fantasy poker league based on results from the 8pm main-event only.
    Many thanks to chris for providing the list of players while i was away working :(
    Players will be divided randomly into different categories and values will be assigned by the end of next week. currently working on a scoring system, players will gain points by playing in ME, cashing, FT-ing and of course winning..........bonus points also awarded for taking bounties in monday and thursday events....also minus point for being in the first 10% eliminated!!!!!!

    correct graham, obviously the star players will have higher values, and there will be 11 players in a team.............thinking of listing you as a goalkeeper :) also gliter, lolu, hursty etc may all be listed as strikers so only 2 can be chosen :)............with your donkyhunterr record your sure to have a high value, a cert for scoring on monday/thursdays lol, maybe substituted out in between :p

    i think hoggers will deffo be a goalkeeper, plenty of clean sheets guaranteed plus dont think he got the stamina to be an outfiled player :)

    I think assigning values (changing over the months with performances) makes sense, the the "positions" become irrelevant. Problem comes when you make someone a bargain basement buy, and they take their bat and ball home - good luck with that!
    Is there any way Sky can give you a performance list of players over a 12 month period in the opens - thus saving you from putting anyone's nose out of joint?

    I'm guessing this will work by assigning players nominal purchase values, and giving us all a budget to buy (say) 10 players. Thus everyone can't pick Glitterbabe LOLUFOLD and jaegerbomb, they'd have to also pick up a couple of bargain basement numpties like Young_gun and Eyeman. Correct?

    Sounds a great idea, look forward to seeing the value's of player, will be a good laugh and cause a lot of banter. Hope you realise how much work you are letting yourself in for here though, look how many names there are!!!

    sounds fun, but if you're gonna give 1pt per bounty in the bounty hunters, shouldn't you reduce the points for the positional finishes - otherwise, bounty hunters trump all other tourneys

    What about half a point for bounties? I think if you look at the 8pm numbers, there is a far greater amount of runners in the BH's so to cash is harder so should maybe deserve slightly more points on offer?

    good observations, thanks and liking the half point for heads.........should be up and running for next friday, and every team will have the opportunity of a transfer once every 6 weeks (my first week home)....obviously new players will be added to the list.

    Got to admit this will be hard to work for the first year, but a second season, knowing previous scores will be easier.

    Thanks all for feedback, and help with ratings before tuesday/wednesday hugely appreciated in advance ;)

    Might work better on a squad basis - to allow for the fact that not everyone can/will play all the time.
    ie choose 16 players - 3 srikers & 13 others, and the best 2 strikers and 9 others count.
    Also that way hursty et al won't feel guilty about going on holiday & letting their fans down
