Idea for a New TV Show

edited August 2011 in Sky Poker Live
Hi guys,

I was thinking about the 865 channel the other day... as you do...  when it occurred to me that it gives great coverage and analyising of the Cash and MTT formats of the game.

Now some of the best players that we have on this site are STT specialists.  I have had the pleasure of playing some of these guys , on the rare occassions my Bank Rolll will let me, and some of their play is excellent.

What do the peeps of Sky and The forum regs think of a dedicated STT show.  The DYM games for example are 30 to 40 minutes long, by focussing on the main hands in one of these games we could see 4 or 5 to completion within a 1 hour show.

It just seems to me that the TV channel is missing out this very popular version of the game that is played by many at Sky Poker.com

Would appreciate your comments.

Cheers

Should this not be in the 'The Sky Poker T.V. Channel' section? :)

DYM are boring to play and probably even more boring to watch as its all about survival not winning, the normal STT tourney where they pay 1 and 2 would be better entertainment.

    Hi JockBMW

Definitely worth looking into, and we will discuss when you come on the show in the next few weeks ;)

    See you then

    Pete,

I agree with you and funnily enough I put together a proposal recently for an STT show where the Sky players pick the entrants every week.

It went to the suits a couple of weeks ago and fingers crossed for a result!

Great Minds as they say Rich. ;o)

I just think we are missing a trick, STT makes up a large part of the games played on the site  and we have some class, indeed world class, players on this site

I think this is an excellent idea Peter and Rich,

Afterall the sky league is based on 3 areas of poker play ie MTT, cash and STT, 2 of which are regularly covered on 865.

Maybe some of our dym experts might like to appear as guests on the show for analysis of hands, strategy etc ....

    Hope this gets approved

Speaking as a 'suit' we have collated several new ideas but at the moment we are looking at other areas of development for the channel and studio. If it was easy to just suddenly change things trust me we would.

Keep sending the ideas in as we do read/ listen to them plus try and make changes as much as possible

    Thanks

yes please, the DYM  s and gs are the mainstay of  many players with limited bankrolls,
it wouldnt be boring as people will watch and learn.
it may not be interesting to those that play higher stakes but ive learned alot from the poker channel
watching and listening to the various pundits, so any programs dedicated to the s and gs would be
      most welcomed.

How about some Omaha games on the channel as well? I'd personally like to see this, to compare all the subtle differences between it and hold'em and how to play it winningly. I know that may not be possible if the gfx cant be altered but thought I'd ask while ideas are being discussed.

I could be wrong Salt1R3, but I dont think the software allows them to show Omaha Hands on the TV.  I agree with you though would love to see Omaha on Sky TV

Yeah thats what I meant about the gfx. If they can't do it fair enough, but if they can I'm sure a few more of us would like to see a show with some Omaha now and again.

Claire you asked for ideas so I would like to suggest a live programme featuring the Monday night DTD. With 3 tourneys to choose from there would be plenty of action available. DTD has become very popular now and this week there were 170 runners in each tourney. It also gives a chance for some of the smaller bankrolled players to feature on the channel.
