Live or Online?

edited October 2009 in Poker Chat
Just a quick question.

What does everyone prefer, playing Live Poker or Online Poker?

I personally prefer online as its more available on a regular basis at almost any price braket. Only live events near me are a weekly tournament to gain entry into a Casino regional final held on a Monday and Tuesday in two seperate pubs respectivly that has free entry and a £20 re-buy tournament in another pub on a friday night where people with big budgets just go in and bet stupid so i find it rather boring and annoying because buget wise i can only afford my origional buy in once a month.

However despite all of this i find Live poker easier to play, i just cant afford to get into any decent game elsewhere.

My personal preference is playing online, at least then when I get the inevitable bad beat I can sit here and say all those words that I wouldn't be allowed to say at a live event lol

I honestly dont mind either.. + and - for both...

+ Online ... Can play multi tables, and if you crash out of 1 game you can easily join another.
     - Online... Can become a bit boring, not sociable, and have to put up with keyboard warriors!!

+ Live ... GENERALLY better standard of play i feel, as people dont want to be seen doing silly things, Sociable get the feel for chips/cards

     - Live.. Normally have to travel therefore can't drink, if you bust out you have to then drive home cussing and swearing, can be very slow if your not "watching the game" and just waiting for cards

If i HAD to choose then probably live, i love having a stack of chips infront of me especially when chip leader (maybe is conpensating for something?) OI!! ... but as i live in the cotswolds anywhere is a drive away and therefore cant drink :(

Online in the comfort of your own home for me.
    However, enjoy live too.

I think that both have their relevance.

For immediate gratification – and the ability to increase your experience quickly – you obviously can't beat online poker. It's just so convenient.

On the other hand, you simply can't beat the buzz of stepping through the doors of a casino or card room, with the expectation of meeting friends, exchanging banter, having a few beers... and helping those that you love to go spectacularly broke.

Nothing else beats live poker – and I mean nothing: Witnessing the first faltering foal-like steps of your offspring; A rebate from the Inland Revenue; finding a fiver you never knew you had; the intoxicating aroma of freshly mown grass on a balmy summer afternoon; the first sip of Whisky & Canada Dry on the plane to your annual holiday; discovering that the worrying lump in one of your testicles is actually the other testicle... None of that comes close to the dizzy anticipation you'll experience at a live game.

LIVE, MORE FUN BUT ONLINE FOR MULTI TABLING , BUT LIVE GETS MY VOTE

Live the standard is easier. Everyone gets bored, especially in cash, and multi-way pots when its been raised 10BB are totally standard.  I even do it myself even tho I know its so wrong and fishy and leaky.

I find live more fun but the grind it has to be online.  I keep far more focused.
