Wrong Move? Or Just Doomed By My Stack Size?

This is the hand that knocked me out last night in the £5,000 Open. We were down to 33 players, I was quite some way below average stack, only had about 6BBs and I'd already put half of one of them in as SB. Could I have held out a bit longer, waited for a better spot or was it just unlucky to walk into AK. Obviously I prefer to be the shover and not the caller but Shanks has only got 10BBs as well so I think I'm pretty good with A8s a lot of the time?

He easily moves in UTG with his stack with a hand alot worse than yours, no action in the CO's I'd be tempted to get it in here. Depends on his range through that part of the MTT. But 10bigs UTG is doing this with K8 or better much of the time. But there is a lot of paint hands that your hand plays badly against.

As said, I'd be tempted. If the table is pretty active I think I def get it in here. If theres not too much action pre I may wait feeling I can push through any two in LP in un entered pot. Think that both are fine though. You did have equity to spike here though
