Couple of topics for us to talk tonight

1)  The long and short of it

We all know Phil Laak set the record for the longest ever live poker game (a whopping 115 hours!!!) but what's your longest time at the table?  How about the shortest? ;-)  Brags and bad beat stories all welcome!

2)  Unexpected celebrity sightings

In non poker talk ever bumped into a celeb unexpectedly?  I got queue jumped by Ringo Starr in the week!  Who'd've thunk it!?

Best story wins FREE entry into Thursdays Bounty Hunter thats 33 pounds worth of prize yours for the taking.

I did 31 drunken hours of Rush Poker once. Somehow came out it about $2K up. Mentallest poker thing I've ever done and even the rakeback was more than what my BR should have been at the time. Thankfully I withdrew it all.

Celebrity sightings. Was in a queue at Heathrow beside James Blunt. He's tiiinnny. His bird was well tidy though. I was too hungover to sing, "You're beautiful" to her. Him and Bob Geldof were both on my flight to Edinburgh. Saw Matrina Navratalova (sp?) in the Tate Modern and Graham Norton walking his dogs on the south bank on the same day. Norton looked the cutest, lol.

wow Sarah nice to see you back.  know you probably can't read this on your show, but I was driving one night and caught your Radio show and I was like I recognise that voice.  now try and tune in when I can :)

oh and poker degenercy...done a couple of 20 to 24 hour live cash sessions.  online probably 18 hours or so.

celeb spotting...Derren Brown in a supermarket.  did cross my mine to stalk him around the place but I imagine with his skills he woulda noticed in about 2 seconds so thought better of it.
  • edited August 2011
Think my longest sesh was 18 hours, nothing compared to most degens I'm sure.

Unexpected celebrity sighting: well, there's an establishment outside Derby train station called "Bubbles", I'm pretty sure I saw Rich Orford coming out of there once.

I once was in a pub in manchester playing on a bandit, and could of won £20 the number it spun me was 11, i was about to take it when a voice behind me said gamble, i turned around and saw that it was manchester united player Paul Scholes, he talked me into gambling lower then an 11, so i did and it spun me a 12, i lost out on £20 because of him, and he didnt even offer me the £20 even tho hes on like 75k a week or whatever! have a good show guys.

Hi there.  Loving the show as usual.  My unexpected celebrity siting was when I was walking around Cambridge with my then girlfriend, not really concentrating on where I was walking when I almost walked right into Stephen Hawkins.  Well I say him but I actually bumped into one of his bodyguards and got told to look where the f I was walking! Oops!

I also think I saw Carlo Citrone walking out of a Newcastle tanning salon but I can't confirm that one!

Hi guys, great show as usual. Celebrity sightings. About 25 years ago i was on Doncaster station having a cuppa and sat across the cafe was Paul Shane. Two little boys went running over to him shouting hi-de-hi. The grumpy actor turned round and told them to go away, but using much sronger language.

Just to reply to TKs point on TommyD, the reason i kept betting was he had been nicking my blinds ever since he came to my table, so thought he was at it. Folded and asked him to show his flush, obvoius he didnt, but glad now he did.
