£1200 Mini BH

edited August 2011 in The Poker Clinic
In a 100 bb tourney I can't fold here and shove after his raise too.

Probably make first raise smaller mind.

Very early in the tournament, no idea on the villian. Should i be folding this Blind on Blind pre so early in a tourney? Flatting? Any ideas guys. Cheers

    Thanks Dudeskin,

what kind of raise would you suggest? I'm just thinking I dont want him to call with air and hit 2pair, trips etc on the flop and if a AKQ comes is it an instant fold to a pot sized bet?

u should be jus flattin JJ after his 3bet for many reasons..
. ur initail raise is fairly big so i would assume for him to re-raise (and his raise size) shows he has a big hand.

.its too early into tourny to be puttin many chips at risk. also with no reads.

.JJ is never goin to be a favourite if 4 bet is called this early.

i would raise less and not have the mentality of being scared of overs on the flop.. if overs come then, yea u can jus c/f flop losin maybe only 80-100 chips but as played u lost 2k chips and out the tourney..

Rush of blood maybe, I came 2nd in the £500 BH about an hour before so perhaps I was a bit giddy lol.

I appreciate the advice, thank you

Rasie pre to 80 - when you get 3 bet it's either overpair or AK

Your jacks shrink up they might aswell be 8's

    call and set mine
btw you need to be able to fold a 9 high flop
you can probably c/c once as he will be c-betting AK 100%

Makes sense Rancid! I like your thinking, I was in a haze at that point and the few glasses of vino dont help lol.

Would there be a % pot size bet you would fold to on the flop considering he will be c-betting if he hasnt already hit?

    you raise 80
    he pops it to 220

i am c/c less than pot, prob c/f turn if he double barrels - but you gotta pressure them to double barrel )

I probz call the small 4-bet and set mine, i'd literally give up to a cbet on a 5 high flop
he's NEVER, and i mean never ever, 3-bet bluffing that small after you opened 7X the BB
Why open so big? making it 80 is fine
