worst play youve ever seen
Ok just asking whats the worst play someone has ever seen? Live or Online count.
My worst i seen tonight on a live game at a local pub and i got a pair of pocket kings on my small blind. First person to the left of the big blind raised, something im always weary of, however that person i play with on a regular basis and is someone who i know often does the min raise with connectors or 9,K or 9,Q for example so i was still confident. 2 callers and the rest folded, as a pair i re-raised to 4x the origional bet, the person next to bb called and so did one other person the last person folding.
Flop comes, 2,4,5 Was i was first to act and only wary of really was an A,3 which may have called. So i put a continueation bet of 400 (same as origional bet) person next to BB folds and the other person raised to 1000. Wary of the A,3 i sat back and had a think, i knew the player liked to steal pots and as a result i decided he was bluffing and raised over the top to the rest of my stack 2100 (including the 1000 call) he calls. we show cards and mine is a K,K he refuses to show his for well over a minute time wasting in by the end of i was told he had 30 seconds to show his cards or i would be considered the winner, which id never heard of before. After which he then finally showed his cards, 3,6. He had the straight, which was fair enough. I hit my K on the turn and the a 7 came on the river improving his straight.
Not grumbling at the fact i lost, im just sooo confused at why the player would call a twice raised pre-flop with 6,3. To make it worse over the coarse of the night while i was awaiting my lift back (4 of us travelled in the same car and one of them made the heads up) the player continued to taunt me over the move as if the 6,3 was the next best hand to a royal flush.
Admittedly it caused alot of giggles throughout the pub and left me at the end of my teather. However its all a game and ill just make sure to beat him next time lol. As it turns out from what i was told (id spent most of the rest of the night on the pool table out of the way as so he could not wind me up anymore) he had looked at 9 out of every 10 flops only folding if someone went all in pre-flop.
Has anyone else had a play as similar.

We nicknamed a bloke 'bet pot' for this very reason.
He called my 10 x bb raise when I had aces with his ace 2 and then called an all in after the flop for him to hit runner runner straight.
I also had an hour at the pool table after that one.
Best place to be, you can't go on tilt on a pool table. (Unless the bar is closed and that's a different story)
You summed it up in your opening sentence....PUBPOKER...... i play every week in my local and pull my hair out with some plays/calls...but i enjoy a few beers with my mates and thats what its about...good luck;-)
the thing is we play a 13 week league and i have won the last 3 times, leading to the area final which i also won for £500 and a place in the dtd grand final,
so i say "keep on calling with trash guys"
cheers dave
