mini b/h exit hand analaysis please

edited August 2011 in The Poker Clinic
i can't decide whether i made a good play or a amature mistake in my exit hand of the mini b/h tonight, Iv seen the main stack of with middle pair and call a decent riase pre with 10 8 off and limp a 10 3 off. At the point of this hand im sitting around 8/65ish with the money starting at 40 only taken 2 heads so have made around 2/3 of my BI back.

My thoughts
Pros
The Riase i make is huge and should isolate the all in give me a chance to take a head with a rasonable hand against a shorty.
Villain raise means next to nothing as i have seen him playing almost any 2 and i don't give him odds to call
Im shoving not calling and even if the villain calls and i win im in great shape for the rest of the tourny

Cons
I know the villain is loose and may call they could easily have 2 over at which point im flipping for my tourny life
I can keep tight and make the money so atleast i make a profit and there will be pleanty of chances to get heads
I like to think im playing for a decent cash but i could flat and make a descion how to continue on the flop

was this wrong??

you can easily pass this spot, your 8/65 right -why risk it with 9's
The UTG can easily turn over a big pr here

If your 8/20 then the move is ok

I actually has this guy (Tez) on my table for a while and I was wondering how the hell he got all them chips
    because he was bad )

OP, I dont really like the shove, but what you need to be thinking about is:
What range does villain open? Of this range what hands call a shove? Especially how many of the 2 overcard hands fold, how many worse hands call?

From the reads you have I wouldnt expect him to fold much of his opening range, and it probably includes lots of hands you are flipping with. Also he seems the type to limp small pairs and Arag type hands.

Yh if I have JJ I make this move but 99 just seems too low for me, and even if he calls wiv QJ he is still racing lol.

yeah agreed i was to tired to be playing a mtt really should  have let this pass
i put him on Arag so thought i would be ahead, but doesn't excuse the bad play silly me
    thanks for the input guys

In my opinion 99 is no good after an UTG raise, a call and a shove. You're asking for trouble, I'd keep out of it. You're not deep enough to call/set mine against the big stack, and even if you try the original raiser might squeeze/shove anyway.

    Fold />Shove>Call
