Newb Introduction :)

edited August 2011 in Poker Chat
Hello all.

I've been a reader on the forum for quite a while and thought it was about time I pluck up the courage to introduce myself.

I'm Llamas, and I have been playing poker on and off for about 5 years. You'll normally find me playing SnGs and MTTs, but I thought i'd dip my toes into the world of cash.

I was wondering what is the defining factor that separates success from failure when changing to cash?

Welcome to the forum Llamas, sorry can't give you any advice on playing cash I'm afraid as I play STT and MTT mostly.  I'm sure if you ask him nicely Dohhhhhhh might give you a few tips.

Mind you it may cost you the price of a Pizza.

One thing I find helpful when playing cash is take all emotion out of yourself and play like a robot, don't celebrate any big hands/stacking people/making big RIGHT calls and DO NOT shout/get angry/hit walls/whack the PC table/let out anger on pets... Ok well you get the idea. Whatever the outcome always play the next hand like it's the first of the session.

    Also nice work Lambert. ;)

Thank you Dudeskin8, that's definitely some advice that very much applies to me. I do get very emotionally attached sometimes and I have a fiery temper. It's something I've got to work on I guess, I'm sure It'll come in time. Just to clarify (in case anybody from the RSPCA is reading) I do not take my frustration out on pets. I've got Lambert for that ;-)
