What about the Sky poker tour? I believe they're around that sort of buy in although I don't think you can buy in directly

thats the problem if it was buyin direct i would but im alot better player with deep stack so i dont wanna waste £24 quid trying to buy in when the structure isnt to my benifits and most probably wouldnt qualify. i know about apat but was just wondering what other ones are out there i know i could also play a gukpt side event

    Hi Mr Gun.

    Your choice is very limited.

The GUKPT ME's are £1,000, the BMPT is £500, and two new Tours will be announced soon, one by Titan, with a buy-in of £1,000, & one by 'Stars with a £500 tag. (The latter starts in February, in Edinburgh).

So they are no good for you.

At the £100 Level, only two spring to mind.

    1) The SPT, £100 Seat Value, but Online qualification only.

    2) APAT. The APAT Events are £75, & are 10,000 chip 2 day Events, with no Reg-Fee & Added Value. Seats can be purchased by Members, (Membership is free), but the Seats usually sell-out within 60 seconds of being made available Online, so you need to be able to click fast! I should that I am APAT Chairman, in case anyone suggests I am being biased here. I am. ;)

I am not aware of any other Tours which have a £100 Buy-In. Which help explains why the Sky Poker & APAT Tours are so successful - because we believe the regular guys have the same right to "proper, grown-up, Poker" as the millionaires & Pros. Whereas the other Tours don't, & that makes me very cross.

Lol, yes, that was me being cooey-wooey.

It really makes me mad that "regular" Players are effectively not given the chance to play Live Poker with decent structures, it's so elitist.

That was part of the reason I took the Post with APAT - because it looks after the regular guys. And proof that those sort of Tourneys are in demand is shown by APAT - evey single Tourney we have ever held has sold out within a few minutes, despite the fact that the Entry Fee has to be paid up to 3 months in advance.

When we first announced APAT, over 3 years ago now, we got absolutely slaughtered on the Poker Forums. One Thread ran to 170 - 170! - pages, & we were villified on every Poker Forum in Europe. They pulled us to pieces, they could not believe we would have no Reg Fees & Added Value for every Event, (nobody else had ever done that) & the APAT Officers would all work for free. We are still here though, & the keyboard warriors are not singing any more.

There - you've started me off now!

Tikay, while on this subject do you know of any lower entry tours.

I will be looking to do some Satallites for the Sky Poker Tour (Glasgow and Newcastle) events. However i feel that i am a better live player (despite my temprament when tired which i think has already been shown here) and i can never afford the buy-ins for anything with players of top quality skill that i could learn from.

The "elitist" thing includes  - or included - the WSOP too, by the way, & I was very critical of them in that regard.

But this year, they took a step in the right direction, & introduced a new "budget" Event, priced at $1,000. And were rewarded with the biggest field for a Live Poker Event ever.

    How many played it?

    6,012.

    Hi Don,

No, there are no Tours with lower buy-ins, I'm afraid.

The Big Tours always have Sideys - side Events - but even those don't go below £100.

But there are decent Events around where the Buy-Ins are affordable. Where do you live? - that may enable me to point you in the right direction.

Ouch, bit of a Live Poker desert, that.

Try ringing the Gala Casino, Maybury, ( 0131 338 4444) they have a nice range of affordable Tourneys.

But beware, the Cardroom is often full of Scots. ;)

lol. Im up at the Maybury Casino for a local tournament style thing ive qualified for over the last 8 weeks, well if my score of 7000 isnt good enough then ill be shocked, but i should be there so ill ask then.
