Direct or Semi satellites.

edited August 2011 in Poker Chat
I wonder if someone can clarify something for me..?

Last sunday I took part in a Roller satellite called a Roller direct ( for £1 or £2 ish). - it stated that 1 in 5 wouldwin tickets to the Roller ( i appreciate I misunderstood slightly)

anyway - out of 27 runers,I was in the top 5, so got ticket to what I thought was the roller, - however it was actually a ticket to a Roller semi about an hour later, which was a £7 or £8 but in. - I got knocked out of that one, but I would estimate that the winners of THAT tourney would get tickets to the Roller.

And so I thought it made sense - the direct is astage one satellite, with the semi ( like semi-final) being that last stage before the big touney, - all fair enough.

Now this afternoon I'm looking at satellites, yet the 8K BH direct AND Semi, both have a buy in of £4.80.

does this mean that these are just two of the same satellites with different titles?

Here is a screenshot showing you what I mean. - As I wasn't sure which was the better one to go for, i opted for neither - any advice on this for future reference greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

We only do an £8k Roller Direct on a Sunday (and Saturday evening) which is £9.60 buy-in and the overall winner gets a seat in the final. Are you sure it wasn't a Sunday Roller Sat which is 1 in 5 into the semi-final?

Today's £8k BH Direct and semi do both have the same buy-in and prize (1 in 5 to the final), but you can't satellite into the direct where as you can satellite into the 5pm semi.

Some directs vary, we have some that are 1 in 5 to the final, some where the overall winner gains entry to the final.
It's always best to read the tournament info on teh right of the lobby when you highlight it, or open the tournament lobby and look at the prize structure.

    Hope that helps.
