Standard?

edited August 2011 in The Poker Clinic
I have a note on this player that says he flatted Queens and fired out on every street on a Jack high board.  Players at this level generally don't bet big unless they have it, so is my 'it' bigger than his 'it'?  I don't know.

Probably best to wait for a better spot I guess. If this guy is a REG then he's got minimum AJ. Although his betting is VERY big which suggests it's not a great player going for a value. I'm not sure that you're behind but just find a better spot to get his money.

    Jeez that's pretty tough.

Pre I probably make it 40p, as mu standard open at NL8 was 4x +1.

Flop he's overbet pot by 50p which is bizarre, usually this sort of bet is a VERY GOOD hand like 2pair/set, I personlly can't put him on an over pair as he would have to reraise pre but like you say did do it with QQ before. I might just shove on flop either that or fold.

On turn if I just called I have to call turn shove too as 6 is a blank.

If he had you beat here just make a note.

Tricky spot here, Bet tiny bit more pre but thats prob being a bit picky

on the flop he could have 2 pair here or a draw i reckon the former, its tough to fold so call isn't bad and although it looks like a safe turn card he jams im defo folding here like a little girl
