how do you like yours

edited September 2011 in Poker Chat
so your sat at a table, your watching people, what are you writing about them?
the reason i ask is i write a lot of notes on people but usually its a lot of trash, for instance they play a hand badly i write how they played it, for instance, player raises, i go all in, they call with A 8 gives me two bits of information, 1.... there raise range, and 2.... there all in range

what other things should i be putting into the notes though

I dont right notes but I do notice if a player I come up against regular plays the same way each time. I hope you got some good notes on me and how passive I play! LOL. :)

I never write notes. They may encourage some people to stop thinking. I also don't avoid regs and sometimes deliberately sit to better players right esp. if they are very aggressive. It's good to get used to these things and learn first hand how to deal with them. If you want to improve you cannot hide. Losing always teaches more than winning if you can adapt. So losing is profitable in the long term. I think it's helpful if some new players can realise that.

I totally agree, i used to play on another site, and had a lot of people helping me improve my game, but i dunno if that site likes bad beats or something lol, but it was time to move to a site where im making money, anyhows, the field on sky poker seems a lot nicer then the ones on that one, ive been helped massively, and am starting to become a winning player :)
the notes yes it can encourage people to stop thinking, however with me the notes give depth to my thinking, the notes im putting on gives there style of play, so i can use them to my advantage for instance if i know somebody only raises when they have something and folds if they dont, to maximise profit on these people if you get the nuts or a monster hand, then you can slow play it till they raise meaning they hit something or they are trying to bluff, either way you have maximised your profit on that player, however with no notes i could just raise and they fold which ok isnt a bad thing, but if used properly its another weapon to add to the belt.... however if i know they are fishy, and i pick up a monster then its ok to take a stab and if they fold its fine
