Is anyone ever going to say something pleasant (in a sincere way) to Hellmuth?

edited September 2011 in Poker Chat
Lol.  Just watched Hellmuth Jr's exit in the 11 ME in the edited version and tried to figure out the last time I saw someone being nice or sincere to the guy :)

Its a shame.  Through watching his exits and hearing some insight when he commentates in the 11 wsop you kind of get the feel that he knows about the bed he's made for himself and is maybe attempting to course correct.

But sincerely cant remember the last time anyone said anything good about him (other than grudgingly acknowledging his non NLHE achievments this year) or was impressed by his presence.

As alwas, Hellmuth is my doucheylegend, bless

Hellmuth is a legend at the poker table disguised by his ego, he really does know his poker and can do excellent if he just avoided the tilt he always seems to get after a bad beat

its  quite funny in one episode i think its 4 of the big money game, where he explains about hes having therapy to be more positive and has to follow 3 steps but cant remember them lol. I think hes a really nice guy can laugh at him self and to be honest takes more stick of players than anyone else. I know he kind of asked for it over the years but he has changed........ honest :)

Lol I like this and saw the parts you mean.  You have to like the fact the guy has a sense of humour about it.

As always I'm a huge Hellmuth fan, warts and all.  I can tolerate his antics because in any other sport he would get the respect and accolades he seeks.  But it being poker, where testosterone and psychology are so important, he has worked himself into this petulant groove.

Any other World champion in any other sport is celebrated, rightly so, whereas Hellmuth just gets constant abuse, which frankly - he admits it himself - he fully deserves.

    As said its a shame.

Yeah I agree with you all. Great player, it is a shame to see he doen't get more credit other than as you said, a begrudged acknowledgement of what is really an amazing tournament record.
