Thoughts on High Stakes Players
Just considering, say, online cash tables, it is obvious that at the lower stakes there will be lots of casual players, fish, gamblers, etc, from which to win money off over a period of time.
However, one would presume that the players playing high stakes are, on the whole, going to be accomplished or professional players. Players playing at that level must presumably be winning money over a period of time, or else why would they play at such high stakes?
But if these 'top' players all make money over time at these levels, then who are they making their money from? They can't all be making profits from each other.
Are there still poor players with more money than sense that try their hand at these levels? Or perhaps do they feed off players moving up to higher levels who are not (yet) quite up to scratch?

I can only assume that say the people winning at (for example) 100NL are winning from some regular 50NL players who are taking a shot at a higher level and so on up the levels.
To some ppl who play poker for fun a few hundred pounds is nothing to them,
If i won the lottery tommmorw i,d play at the high stakes - I,d get beat over time but would relish playing the best players and would try to learn off them
having said that you do see on Mastercash 6 regs sitting togethor at high levels which I don,t understand but theres normally 1 or 2 who are gonna be recreational players with plenty of money who can afford to lose it
We are just all holding Iveys money its just a matter of time before he gets it all" 10 points to any one who knows who stated that.

In answer to OP. They probably make their money of drunken half-wits like me and persons whom, for whatever reason and however temporarily, similarly believe that either money's not important, they're better than they think they are or it's all a bit of a laugh really. At times I've been guilty of all three and on occasion even all three at once. Sigh.
Tging is if you were playing in the big game regularly would you simply sop if the dges evened out? Probably not. Love of the game plays a big part. Competiteveness also
