Not uncommon bud. Was very pleased to see I had the same back to back black K's live this afternoon.
Was in a live MTT over the weekend, picked up J's back to back on the bubble. The 2nd time some cretin who goes by the screen name "DaveyZZ" made me put them down with a horribly friendly "pleasecallpleasecallpleasecallpleasecall" 3bet pre
I opened J's UTG 5 handed at 5k/10k to 20k on bubble. Davey had been super inactive, mulls it over and makes it 40k, myself only having maybe 70k back. 9 players left, 8 go to final table. Pretty much auto muck the J's, kindly shows the K's.
Dveyzz finished 6th I think? maybe 5th. Myself 3rd. This is live. I'm never folding K's there. But literally worst hand in his range in this event there is going to be AK.

I reckon that the odds of being dealt identical cards in two consecutive hands are 1325 to 1. So, at any given point in time it's pretty unlikely, but given the thousands and thousands of hand played online, it's not that uncommon at all.
In fact, interstingly, it is precisely 6 times less likely than being dealt pocket Aces. So, on average, for every 6 times you are dealt AA, you should be dealt identical consecutive hands once.
I've played 5901 cash hands in the last month or so, so I guess I could expect that it's happened to me 4 or 5 times in that period (not counting tournaments).
In Response to Re: Are the Cards Shuffled? : My bad Super impressed you made it to final table to be fair......considering I took half your stack in the first level gentle needle bud lol I would so rather have played vs you 3way than those bleeding tards. Calling off his whole stack with Jhigh................ Posted by AMYBR
