Why is there a limit to the no. of tables that spawn, eg 5 x 100NL HU tables?

Hi,

This has probably been answered before so apologies if I am repeating a thread.

I like to 2-table when playing HU but have found that only 5 100NL HU tables spawn at a time. There were 3 matches in progress so I opened 2 tables and sat down. Player ajs4385 sits one table (min BI) and asks me to leave a table so he can have one.

I politely declined explaining that I want to have two games running and that I would happily play him. He then joined both tables (min BI) and sat out both tables declaring "(we) can have 1 each or none each up to u"

The conversation went on in this fashion for a while although no real progress was made:

ajs4385 /> le me have this you have other whats problem
2Guys1Acct /> i want to play on two tables, that's why im sitting on two
2Guys1Acct /> if i wanted to play on one table,, i'd sit on one
ajs4385 /> well you currently got none

This isn't a post calling ajs4385 out as a douchebag but rather a request that this table cap be lifted. It doesn't really seem to be in the interest of either player or poker site.

Maybe a poll to guage support would be of interest... so I'll add one.

I dont play HU cash at that level but i do sympathise Jamie

I think that either they should stop someone sitting at more than one table if they dont have a customer, or they should (preferably) make table spawning unlimited.

P.S I think Ajs was being a little childish, but i think you both share the same opinion on this issue so hopefully it will be resolved!

This is rly stupid, there should be new tables spawning at all levels when theres players sitting at them, i also noticed that at every level of HU theres a PL table but there isnt at 100nl :S

Yeah I agree, a new one should sporn everytime someone sits at one.

I suppose they have to have a cap somewhere on the ammount of tables that are able to spawn. I found this out when we had the jackpot for the however millionth hand it was not long back. That was the first time i've ever seen all of the cash tables full and non spawning.

That was an extremely busy night though so I can't see why there can't be more HU tables spawning.

If I am ever on two tables heads up and there are none left and someone requests one I let them have it. Its the fair and decent thing to do. The majority of regs do the same. On other sites there are rules about only sitting on one table as things get stupid in the lobby otherwise.

I do agree tho more tables should be spawned and rules about amount of tables sat at should be introduced.

I have the same frustrating problem when I'm trying to multitable NL1000 HU (ahem).

I know Sky Poker have increased spawn limits in the past when requested so I'll drop an email to the people who can make this happen (if there's not a technical reason it can't).

This should never be increased unless the number of tables you sit at each level is capped at 1 otherwise the lobby looks very crowded and unattractive with a million empties.

Even then a limit to the number of tables at each limit makes regs fight for tables if they cannot attain one which is good for the site as there will be more action to gain the right to play weaker players with the lobby staying relatively tidy.

Who wants to see 15+empties at each level everytime they scroll down looking for a game.

There wouldn't be a list of empty tables though. A new one would only spawn once somebody sits at the last one to spawn.

So you would see a list of tables with 1 person sat waiting to play somebody and one empty table.

Use a filter. Although you have to reset it everytime you log on which is annoying, should make it so it saves. I always filter nowdays the amount of tables with one person just sitting waiting for HU does make it look empty
