Nightmare River Card, Now What?

edited September 2011 in The Poker Clinic

This is a sat, but I don't think that makes a difference.

It's the mid stages, I'm in decent shape, fast structure.

No reads on the opponent.

Bet sizing on the turn is because I don't need to protect against anything, and the plan was to shove any river card.

Other than....

A blue, green or black Ace.

fml.

What dya do now?

I bet turn at least 1/2 pot if I bet, just because that sizing may set off alarm bells.

If you dont like the A,  why are you ok with non A hearts? Just as you said you didnt need to protect. I prob c/c

Turn seems quite weak, I'd make it around 1400 obvz never folding lol

Can't see how river helps him so yh probably check to let him bluff with you obvz never folding with stack size.

here m8 with that hand i would be happy to get it in on flop, being quite short(in a fast tourney, 6 max)

and being dominated chip wise v villain, so i dont mess about and looking for max value etc i would bet 1000-pot on the flop and shove a blank turn.

btw i would prob play it nearly exact like you did if i had 50xbb or more in a slower tourney.

as played, well i dont know tbh it depends how i felt at the time i guess
