I know, I know- we should have gone to Specsavers...

Yes, it's the turn of Sky Poker's resident optician to enjoy/endure 4 hours in the studio live on 865 sat between Pinky and Not-so-Perky.

Yes, your onscreen team tonight is Richard Orford, Tony 'Tikay' Kendall and Graham Phipps aka Eyeman.

Should be plenty of banter as well as lots of interest as we follow tonight's big games the Sunday Roller and The Primo.

Get your questions in to forum favourite and blogger extraordinaire Graham now please!

Plus look out for those hand i.d. numbers so we can analyse your play.

And please get stuck in to tonight's two topics:

    1) Tells

Online and live. So, what questions or advice do you have for us concerning tells that you've spotted in online games.
And how about on the live scene? Ever felt chuffed because you picked out a tell on your opponent? Have you ever made an opponent think you've got weaker or stronger cards by the way you've acted? What goes through your mind when you pick up the nuts? How do you try to appear? Nonchalant? Nervous? Cocky (for reverse psychology)?

Let's get into the mind of the game!

    And 2)
    Eyesight trouble?

Don't worry, just ask our good optician. Graham is on hand for all your eyesight problems- real or ahem, not-so-real.
E.g. are you finding your neighbour's wife too attractive? Perhaps Graham has the remedy for your eyes. Or does yor eyesight keep playing you up everytime you look at a bill? Does it tell you the amount you have to pay is lower?

    You get the idea.

    So, tells and eyes!

Get posting and see you at 9pm!

I'd like to ask Graham about Aero bars. Being a TKP member does he prefer Orange Aero to either Mint or Chocolate Aero?

Or, is it as I suspect, that all bubbles are equally attractive to him?

I use to have an on line tell....  It only became apparent when I stated playing live.

If I had a big draw and bet it on the flop, but missed, I would bet heavy on the turn and river.  At this point, Having totally miissed every out abd bluffing to the max, I usually scream...

"FOLD YOU BLEEPING, BLEEPITY, BLEEP... FOR GOD SAKE FOLD"

This, whilst a perfectly acceptable strategy on line.......  doesn't work as well in live games....  Who knew ;o)

    Have a great show Graham

    Evening Gents and Graham. :))

Hope you have a good show tonight, and I will look forward to watching the repeat.

    TELLS)
The best one I witnessed last week at the SPT Final was when you TELLthe villain that you have the best hand with just one card to come and then they TELLyou that they know they are behind but have money invested in the pot so call. They then hit on river, lol. You then TELL everyone about your 'beat' and they TELL everyone about their 'great play'

    Eyesight trouble)

I may have some trouble tonight as a I am going out to get 'BLIND' drunk.

(Can Graham or possibly Tikay explain this saying?)

    Evening guys,

    Tells
I think Scotty77 gave it as his tip recently and I completely agree that you shouldn't look at your cards until the action is on you, and if you do that it gives you time to watch everyone else and concentrate on their reactions to looking at their cards. I've always been told in terms of visual tells I'm virtually unreadable at live poker, I'm constantly nonchalant regardless of whether I have junk or the nuts.

Could you please show my exit hand from the Survivor last night (got in for £1) because I'd really like to get some feedback about it...

    Hand No: 415302952

    Bit of background:
Maybe I shouldn't have been thinking this deep but basically I'd been playing pretty solid tight poker up to this point but hadn't really hit anything so I'd been taken off a few pots quite cheaply because I was sticking to playing straight forward poker (folding to a bet on the flop when I don't hit) in the early stages so I think people had an opinion that I was weak and would fold easily.

Hence I figured ebberdon was re-raising me lighter than normal and so I thought I was likely to get a fold and if not thought I'd be at worst flipping (with me being the slight favourite). I also wasn't too worried that the min-raise meant massive strength because I figured he thought he could get me off most non-monster hands for the minimum.

Was this a completely horrible play?

Good Evening all and especially to TKP legend Eyeman!

Start with tells, watch the opponents look at hole cards, if they pick the cards up and hold them side on they are likely to be folding, if they have a card guard and don't put it down on the cards they are probably folding, if they start to touch chips, count out chips they are prob calling or raising, fairly obvious but surprising how many times I see this.

Eyes - Don't wear TKP shutter shades they make A4 look like AA

Big well done to Sian for SPT Final 7th place and her excellent 2nd place in Leeds last night, the winner last night in Leeds? Well we chopped it but I won a flip to take the kudos!!!

Great posts everyone- I can always on you lot to come up with the business.

Nice result today against Liverpool today, Greg. Shall I ask Graham if he can recommend some eye-treatment to a man who mistakes Aces for J-3 off and wears THOSE shirts?

Good Evening All & Good Luck with tonights show :-))

Does Graham think he has any tells hinself on or offline?

Online Having taken copious notes on Graham myself i noticed a certain pattern to his game, One of which i used to double myself up off of him in a recent game, Do you use the notes system to help keep track of patterns that may lead to certain "tells" on players?

    P.s. It helps he's such a <'((0)) /><    :))

GL with the show hon :))

    Have a good show guys.

Can Tikay tell us who won the first Omaha Tournament that he helped start on Friday, as I cant remember....

  • edited September 2011
Evening chaps, great to see Graham on the show. He is a true team player, and must thank him personaly live on TV for all his brilliant advice when I joined TKP. His railing and words of encouragement have been invaluble to my game. He is one of the best to help people and tell it like it is. A true gent. Please make him embarrased by reading this out :)

On the TELL side of things. All I do is make notes on almost all players so I can remember, since my memory isnt as good as it was. This works very well for me.

Eye sight, omg, number of times I forget my glasses is un countable, so seeing 44 as AA is a very common problem I have. Can you ask him a way of remembering my glasses please ?
Have a great show Graham, dont let Tikay take all the limelight lol :)
And he knows this statement,WE ARE TKP, WE STAND AS ONE .

    1. When you raad unlucky! well played! in the chat box before the Turn Card's been dealt.
I guess thats a pretty good indication your opponents got  the nuts!

    2. When your opponents time bar reads "Away" thats a pretty good indication
    A) Call of nature/emergency brew up
    B) It's about time they invrested in new equipment
    C) You may be going to last one more hand than usual in the tournament

    3. Shoving my chips in the middle in less than a nano second usually means
    A) I've got a good hand and
    B) The rest of the tables just about to fold!

On a serious note Well done to Tikay for the Omaha Tourney which lasted well past midnight Friday
and Good luck with the show!
