Hey guys i need a bit of advice. I had an incline the guy had pocket pairs. I figured that although he was in front with his pairs, my chances of drawing were good enough to raise. In hindsight, should i have called his pre-flop re-raise and then scared him off by shoving after the flop? Hate the miracle river draws, unless they're in my favour of course ;)

    I'd raise 3x UTG.

As played when he minraises I would just flat in position and see what he does on flop.

You instead have minreraised him back which is a strong play but your hand isn't very strong so when he then minreraises again (golly this hand is confusing lol) he is representing a monster ! So when you finally shove you should be expecting AK/AA/KK/QQ/JJ maybe 10's but behind either way but amazingly he has 55 and it's a flip which you lost but overall I wouldn't play AJ like this.
