played the hand well imo,,sometimes {all though may be not in this hand } alot of other low limit players would have lost more the way the hand played,,or indeed won more

I thought I might get someone saying 3bet bigger. Fair point.

Finally had my first winning (barely) session in quite a while...took me 2 hours of 2 tabling 4NL to grind up £2.56 profit lol.

I've been on a bit of a stinker of a run recently, had about 5-6 losing sessions in a row, 1 or 2 of them being fairly big losses. My BR was up to about £240 and I was playing 10NL and 8NL (depending on availability), bad run sent me back to £160. Really knocked my confidence and towards the end of my journey to £160 I knew that the bad run was causing me to start playing bad. So I stopped playing cash completely, took a break for about a week, just played the odd few DYMs, the odd deepstack and the survivor series which (as if I haven't mentioned it enough on the forum yet lol) I managed to go all the way from £1 BI....just a shame Ebberdon knocked me out 16th.

And basically today and yesterday were my first days back, 61p yesterday but only managed to play 2 tables for about 1 hour and barely anything happened in that session... Only managing to play 2 tables at the moment cos my mums (staying here for a lil bit) internet connection is AWFUL (it's Sky actually!), need to phone them up about it... it can literally take 30 seconds for a pretty plain webpage to load, so you can see multi-tabling more than 2 tables isn't an option til I get it sorted.

That's why I've posted a few hands up recently tho, cos my confidence took a bit of a knock and I just wanted to make sure I was still getting things right.

    Rant over.

why are you not betting flop?

  • edited September 2011
Well I might be wrong here but... because I can't see him calling with less than a K but he could bet a 10 or worse if I check which I thought he might have, then I hated the turn and was just in c/f mode.

i would prob value bet the flop (we have the 3 bet lead and he only min raised initially which is bad)

its not the case that only K's call. bad players will call with any pp, also QJ and other broadway draws

did you have any reads on this villain? because even tho that board is horrid, there is still a chance our aces are good on that turn card if he is bad.  defo not a 100% fold imo, even as played.

dont ever change the way you play just tinker and progress and keep the faith,,,you have to learn how to lose to become a winner

Yeah I REALLY could do with a bit of run good, just to help me get my BR back up to the £200+ mark again.

Didn't really have any reads on him Gregg, first time playing with him, had been there about 1 hour but I don't think that's long enough to get solid reads worth stacking off for. Fair point on the other hands that call other than a K.

I may have been good here, I'm not sure, he was fairly aggro but for me (I assume you agree) it was shove or fold to his bet on the turn and I couldn't bring myself to press the button for all-in.

well I think you can certainly vbet flop.

If you c/c flop whats your plan on a blank turn?
  • edited September 2011
You'll probably hate this but if it comes a complete blank, no help to the straight or flush, I probably bet out but I'd be trying to pot control. As it is with £1.28 in the pot after the flop, I might bet half pot, if he raises I figure I'm against a K, otherwise I'm probably good.
