Hall Of Fame

edited September 2011 in Poker Chat
I railed Dylan12 last night.
How exciting was that???
But as he closed in on possibly the greatest achievement the site has ever witnessed

I thought isn't it about time there was an area on the site that listed all the great achievements.
Redmond in Vegas, Elsadog winning both rollers, Orford winning the side event, a record 24 heads in the bounty hunter.
Is it possible? Do you think it would be good?

Cracking idea DUNMIDOSH. Thanks for adding to my list of things to do! :)

If folks want to nominate some of the achievements from Sky Poker players on this thread I could start thinking about how to lay it all out.

    To get the ball rolling...

    Redmond at WSOP
Team Sky Poker final tables at GUKPT: Dan and Ryan
    Dylan12 pwns the Jackpot
    Elsadog wins Double Rollers
    Daveyzz at the SPT
    Orford's side event in Leeds...

Would be good to have a 'TOP SIX' of players who have WON the most MAIN EVENTS since sky poker was 1st launched and this could obv be ongoing to give players a bit of kudos if they get into the top 6

This would be good, but I suspect that Sky doesn't have this data to hand.

But there are thousands of high stakes players that crush...

Don't see many like Irishmans winning so much when he never enters games above a fiver.

    It's insane.

Id recommend they have set hall of fame targets: I.E Most Main events won, longest DYM streak, longest HU streak. Jackpot winners etc.. or otherwise give it a year there will be a massive long list of achievements that nobody can be bothered to read through and defeats the idea.

You could then have a seperate section underneath for other notable achievements, like James' triple TSP wins in a row. Reds at the WSOP etc...

    +1
Less is best! or the True achievements are devalued!
Longest streaks is a good idea cos it gives the incentive to go better

I think this is a terrific idea and weirdly enough I mentioned a hall of fame on Dylan's thread without even realising that this thread had started. Great minds, Dunmidosh...

Fwiw, I think it should be a very select list i.e. someone is only inducted into it once in a blue moon and only when it is patently obvious to all that they have achieved something special and is fully backed by the entire community. This way it's not devalued (like the WSOP bracelets have been recently) and means a big deal to whoever makes it.

As an also-ran I think it worth mentioning that Mick Jenn winning the premium monthly Roller twice in a row was pretty staggering.

But for my money- I think Redmond should be in it for his WSOP exploits, Scotty77 for his GUKPT final table and Dylan for being the first, and who knows, maybe the only ever winner of the jackpot.

Oh, and me, obviously for winning the first ever Sky Poker Tour side event. I admit, this is a bit more a tough sell ;-)

Most times hand stuck in the studio desk:  1 - Richard Orford

Acebarry should be in the hall of fame

for promoting 10 handed deepstacks relentlessly in the early days of this forum, when the average turnout was 3 people.

    Legend!

I certainly think TIKAY would be deserving of a place here in some shape or form for all of his efforts to help SKY POKER get where it is now

Yep, forgot about that one. No complaints from me there- a genuine achievement under the Sky Poker name. Dennis would get my vote.

So I make it Redmond, Ryan (Scotty), Dylan and Dennis.

    Just my opinion.
