i would recommend the deepstacks, nice slow structure with loads of play

7.15 150 gtd deepstack.....£2.20 buy in, 5000 chips with 12 minute blind levels (gets around 80 runners most nights)

    or

7.45 100 gtd deepstack (same format but £1.10 buy in)

there are also numerous bounty hunter tourneys for £2.30 buy in.......but i would recommend the deepstacks

welcome to the forum and gl at the tables!

definatly start on small deep stacks, you get plenty of play for your money.

also there are loads of double ur money sit and gos (6 players with 3 doubling ur money)

these last around 45 mins and start from as low as 30p

I would reccomend the DYM (double your money) games, found under the sit an go tab.  The game has 6 players and simply the top 3 players double their money.  Last around 30 minutes each, they are a great way to get used to all the basics.
    They have buy-ins  anywhere from  30p, 60p, £1, £2, £5  etc...    all the way up to 100 !
    Good luck

it depends A) whether you have played poker before, B) how much your bankroll is

Also alot depends on what style a player you are if you like playing tight, DYM should be pretty simple if normal 10min blinds too slow then scary/speed sit n gos

Welcome to the site and gl, have fun

No way play the micro sng DYM as the rake really kills ya , defo +1 on the £2.20 deepstacks , you will learn alot from those.

PS i do wish players would point out to newbies about the rake factor on micro dym's as it is a very important part to factor in.

Have to go with the £2 Deepstacks

If you are confortable playing more than 1 table at a time you may wish to check out the DTD played every Monday

    This is 3 tourneys starting at 7.15, 7.45 & 8.30 respectively - all for total buy-in of £5.50.

Get upwards of 200 runners at the mo in these tourneys with a wide range of abilities (as some opf the better players play in it as the banter is good)

Look for details in Forum from Friday onwards - to have a go just stick ur name down

Dont worry about the teams thing - this has just been added for banter etc.

    Good Luck

Yeah I definitely agree with this. New people will never realise how horrendous the rake is and thus how high a win rate you need to actually make anything out of it, and frankly even if you're win rate was 90% (which is ridiculous), you'll still have to play a hell of alot to make even £5-10 at 30p DYMs

if you want to play tourneys then stay well away from the DYMs. Its not even poker.
Try the £1 buy ins these are on every afternoon 2.20, 3.20 and 4.20 pm. Play the 7.15 and 7.45 deepstacks. All low buy ins and good value.

The 7.45 Deepstack (£1.10) was set up for these exact reasons.

It gives newbies a chance to learn how to play some decent poker at a very low cost and it also gives them a chance to play and learn against some quality players also.

    Best of luck doyle
    See you at the tables

if you wanna play some good tornys that dont cost too much go for the £1.10 - £2.20 £50 to £200 garanteeds. you get around 40 players or so and depending what times you want to play the really late night ones are good as sometimes you only get around 20 players so more prize fund for your buck and not so many to play against, also as mentioned the deepstack games are very good structure wise. if your starting out theres allways the free rolls but you get a lot of players shoving with rubbish and its like bingo really so i personaly avoid them. gl buddy

    +1 to this
Can't believe this has been up for nearly a day and Hitman hasn't tried to recruit to THS yet...

Definately the deepstacks. Try the quid buy in at 7-45pm or the 2quids at quarter past the hour. The fields can get quite big and usually last 3 to 4 hours but are a good learning ground. Welcome to SKY Doyle.

There's no better mtt to start with than the Orfordable deep stack

It's on tonight at 7.10pm and £3.30 to enter. Lots of decent players and you won't have to rush.

Even TKP players can do well in this from time to time.
