I'm confused is it something to do with players only allowed to win one category?
Have to say all the winners deserve their awards especially Spornybol even though he'll probably moan about it lol

They've used the votes as a guide to assign the awards as they see fit.......

If this is true can I ask why was this done ?

I don't remember seeing that it was to be done like this.

I know it's only a bit of fun and I applaud all of the winners, I just feel it should have been made clearer the votes
would only count so far towards the winners being chosen.

Well this quote is from the opening post....

Thank You all for voting , we have spread the community stars love out as best we could through your votes

I can see what they're doing, and applaud their efforts, but the catagories imo were poor, as is the timing of the nominations, it's October, this should have been done in December. Also awarding them as a committee, using the votes as a guide, de-values the voting system and to an extent, the whole thing.

But meh, maybe they can do it again in December.

Btw, check out my new avatar! ;) lol

MAYBE DO EVERY 2/3 MONTHS FOR FUN, I`M SURE BIGAL WOULD RUN CLOSE WITH ME, AND MAYBE I`D WIN ONE OF OTHER AWARDS ?? ( PMSL)

Hey, just realised I won a category!

This is the first award I've clinched since my 'Home Help' badge at cub scouts.

Well chuffed- thanks to all who voted for me. As for those who didn't, spin on it! ;-)

    Very basic system :

some one tops the vote poll in two categories

    categories  1 : 26 votes

    categorises  2 : 16 votes

They win cat 1 & void form cat 2.

Then the runner up in cat 2 gets the win .

I thought it would be nice  with 17 categories that there would be 17 happy peeps
and not a lot less .

Soz if anyone feels i messed up .

    Denis .

For the record i & silver8ack put at least over 40 hours in to sorting
these awards from start to finish .

Plus imber & boxster put a lot hours in as well .

For no gain to us as such ,
so to say i am disappointed after coming home from work to read some of the posts
on here is a understatement .

    But noted .

    Well don't over-react about it.....

Dunno how it could possibly take 40 hours to do, the thread is only 9 pages long.....

I cudda done it in half an hour? U must b telling fibs.

The real community stars are people like yourselves, but you guys hardly got a mention, due to your catagories.........

    Where was the comedy award?

The award for forum improvisation and initiative?

If you're gonna decide who gets what, you should think of people who deserve an award, and give them 1, no need for votes.

Don't take it to hart, but I think the criticism was fair.

There really is no point in justifying or discussion this with you & moobs .
It clear you have not read my previous post on why 2 awards did not go to one person .
Plus with silly statement like 30 mins to organize something like this from
start to finish well that speaks for it self .

Really Really hurt after all our hard work to be belittled in this way .

I / we have wasted enough time on this ,
one thing is for sure you & moobs have made up my mind on one thing ,
its the last bloody comp  i will run on this forum .

Now hope your happy with your 5 mins of work .

    Denis .

That system is perfectly fine in my eyes then.

Sorry if I came across as being a pain in the backside.

The Hitsquad wholeheatedley wish to thank Irish, Imber, Silver8ack, Maxally, Boxter, and any othrer good people who gave their time freely & in good faith for the mere entertainment & benifit of the Whole community!!

Maybe next year we should consider engaging 2 or 3 Moaning awards!!

    1

"The Tongue in Cheek Best moaner", but these are hard to figure out! [disguise & bluff coming into play]

    2,

"The pre-flop moaner award", as demostrated by Sporney, lol

    3,

"The Post Flop moaning award" ...Now here's the rub....would people stop trying to win that this year, because it was NOT in nominations, maybe next year!!

PS. in case anybody was unsure THIS is the entry from HitManland for categary 1 for next year!!

    X

    lol

OMFG seriously blown out of proportion alot there Dennis

You do alot of good comps etc on here so to deprive ppl of those each to their own but i think its petty IMO

Me and JJ and a few others have a right to say, im not too fussed about the ppl cant get more then 1 award but like i state i dis-believe the statement that it took that long and also the person who is 2nd and so on gets the awards.

Still love my avatar so thanks :)

My earlier comment '' can someone explain'' wasn't aimed at the method used to determine the winners. It was aimed at YG's comment. This cast a shadow over what was after all a community led awards poll.

It was obvious from the visible votes on the forum that there might be some who were in the running for more than one award, and the rules clearly stated that each person could win only one category. As far as i know there were no objections to that when the rules were posted.

The initiative and the work involved should be recognised for what it is - community spirit by all those involved.

Whether it took 1 hour or 40 hours is frankly none of our business! We should be grateful people put themselves forward to do things like this - the DTD, Fantasy League and all other community led initiatives should all be applauded because at the end of the day, the folk who do them don't have to.

Then the whinging winnies really would have something to moan about.

    Yeh, well OTT reaction.

By not running any future forum comps ur punishing yourself and alot of others that enjoy them.

If you want to punish myself and anyone else for "being critical" thats prob more apropriate and you wouldn't get any arguments from me, it's entirely up2 u.

How you can have forum awards without 1 for comedy I dunno.

Loads of ppl who make the forum what it is didnt get a mention...

    DJblacke...

    Bandini.....

    Logdon....

    Donut......

    Irishrover.......

    Pokertrev......

    Dudeskin......

    Debdobs.....

    Loads of others......

That'z coz the catagories weren't right.

Anyway w/e, if you canny handle constructive criticsm, maybe you're not the right man for the job anyway.

There was plenty of opportunity BEFORE this ran for you and anyone else to comment on the rules or the catagories. Get off the guys back and stop being a PITA.
