My old man used to play abit of 1c/2c on Party......

I was watching over his shoulder 1 friday night, and he checked behind on the river with the nuts.....

I obv questioned his play.....

And he said "yeh but he wouldn't call if I bet anyway, I'm happy with what's in the middle."....

Obv I xplained......

and it became apparent that he thought, if he bet, and his opponent folded the river, then he would lose the money already in the pot.

He thought the hand had to go to showdown for him to be able to win.

Wish I was joking.
