Ain't played these for yonks but I'll try.

    Pre good.

    Flop good.

Turn I would fold, it's a smallish bet but it's still 9bb's for the current blind level and if he's betting out here after just calling flop raise he probably bets river aswell which will be bigger.

If you call turn bet i.e. don't put him on Ace then surely you have to call river bet, however now it's an all in it's trickier but what was your plan if he bet say 600 on river was you calling or just praying for check ?

What level is this? i would prefer the raise on flop to be smaller tbh more like 160 to maybe 180 ish i would also reraising the turn as by flatting there your playing your cards face up and you will prob find he betting small to see a cheap river. As played the shove looks like a busted flush so i call

Raise much bigger pre..for 60 chips ppl will call with any 2..i make at least 100-120 here.

overall i wud fold as its stupid if he has an ace or a random 2 pair to go out of tourny so early on.

I had my 1st go at DYM today,After level 6 on a 5.50 dym we still had 5 players so utg i pushed with AQ clubs as only had 1700, blinds on 200/400 got two calls QJ/33, hit the ace but sadly that gave QJ the st8,I read the blog by JC which i put to good use sadly this time i didnt cash but im going to give DYM a go in november and see if ive made good profit at the end of that month,Im thinking of doing 2tables 4a hours a day at 5.50 so hopefully by end nov i hope to have my DYM bankroll to a healthy stack,Ie probably works out playing 4 games in 1 hour ,Outlay £22.00 hope to get back £30.00 each hour so lose 1 in 4 ,If this works out doing it 5 times a week thats £120.00 for an outlay of £88.00 a day so a £32 profit each day ,So if im correct all going well that could end up to £400-600 by the end of the month. wish me luck

Good luck Cleaver but there's no way you'll keep it a 75% win rate 100% of the time. No matter how good you are, sometimes you'll get to 4 left even if you're the chip leader, you lose 1/2 races (even if you go in ahead) and that's it. But good luck anyway. I'm in the process of doing a bit of a DYM grind at the mo if you wanna check out my thread in general poker chat.

Of course I'm folding to the shove, I'm not a moron lol. The question was not aimed at asking whether I should call the shove, but whether I played it right up to that point/was it completely obviously I wasn't gonna call that river bet so he figures he has nigh on 100% success rate with that shove?

no way you can profit at 75%??? firstly you only need to ptrofit bout 60% of time to beat rake and yes you can easily do it.

Sorry cleaver but winning 75% is not gonna happen (Too much variance as quite a lot of 5.50 players know bubble play quite well), The absolute best players will get about 70%

In reply to ur comment about my post.

Do u not see that he might not even have an ace here, he could have any old junk here cos u've made it only 60 to call...if u bet bigger pre it folds out alot of hands..then if u do put him on the ace u still call a bet of 180.00..so imo this isn't that really well played. the only good things is that you've folded to a shove.

    Erm... over 7 games!

I think you'll find that 7 DYMs is the perfect sample size for determining absolute probabilities.

    I'll prove it...

If I toss a fair coin 7 times, the probability that I will get 6 heads is 0.0546875, which is really low, so let's just call it 0. So, with a fair coin, there is no chance that I would get 6 heads. Therefore, the coin must be biased.

This proves that when I play £5.50 DYMs I must have a significant edge over my opponents. QED.

that isnt right you cannot possibly be at that % you would just play for a living if you did

Hey Lambert, keep up the good work.

Personally i think this is very good disciplined fold. So many people will view and think ur mad. Your raise on the flop got you the information you needed, and could make a comfortable fold on the river. Theres alot here that beats you when it get to the river. You probably lost close to the minimum!!!

    Good players fold big pairs

Hmmm, if that was my consistent win rate then I wouldn't be professional... I'd be cheating somehow!

See my post above. I was being facetious.

I do indeed have a win rate of 86% at £5.50 DYM, but I have only ever played 7 games at that stake, so I can only put the incredibly high win rate down to variance.

I have mostly played £2.25 DYMs on here, 514 of them in fact, with a more realistic (modestly successful) win rate of 62%.

My win rate over all DYMs at all levels (924 games) is a slightly lower 60%.
