A game at home with your mates

edited October 2011 in Poker Chat
 Hi all

I have recently been playing the odd home game with some mates normally a group of 6, we all put £10 in each and the winner takes all.
The problem we have found is that it seems to drag on far too long and players who go out a sitting around for ages until a new game begins.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good structure for us to start playing too, also maybe one where  we could include re-buys.

Many Thanks

    Super Charged Deepstack.

    Stucture:
    £5.00 or £10.00 entry
    10.000 Chips
    3min Blinds
Player sitting with the largest stack after an hour takes all
Rinse & Repeat throughout the night.

This also gives everyone a chance and you get to have a break and start over again.

You could always have 1 single re-buy as another option (Agreed in advance).

You will also see some crazy & amusing shoving in the last 10mins coming up to the hour mark as players try to double up.

first of define how long is too long we normally have a six or eight seater running for about 2-3 hours 20 min blinds 5 k starting stack with last person to go out is the dealer (this speeds the game up no end). Play that for couple of hours and if people still want to poker on a bit run a bit of 10/20p cash afterwards

i play one but it may be a bit deep and steep for you and your mates we normally start with 40k chips £50 buy in and the blinds goin up every 25 mins, with this stack you dont normally lose any one early as the stack is massive but we play for about 8 hrs which we are ok with as before the games were lasting for 2 hours but had about 3 or 4 of them,so we thought we would just play one massive game and normally 8 players and pay top 2 or 3 with 3rd getting money back, just a suggestion as we were paying £50 over the night anyway, try it you will see some good poker, blinds normally start off at 25-50 and later on put an ante in,gd lk

I'd just suggest you play cash together blinds 2p/4p or 5p/10p if everyones happy playing with a tenner!
This seemed to work when playing SitnGo's with my mates (and family) got boring for the people who went out.
Plus cash allows you to be more gambly obv.
