Sky Poker Nightly News Anyone??
I just wondered if anyone had ever suggested a nightly news programme on
channel 865. I envision a short maybe 30min jobby that could run through
the results of the various nightly tournaments and fill us all in on any breaking
news. It could be on at midnight allowing it to give almost all results from the
nights play or alternatively at 7:30pm and cover the previous night's results.
Sounds like an ideal candidate for Sky Plus series link lol...
Love to hear peoples thoughts on the matter. Especially you decision makers
out there :-))

1, It would cost alot of money having to pay for all of the crew and presenters.
2, Most of the big tournaments don't finish until alot later than midnight.
However as i said it could be shown at 7:30pm and cover the previous
night's results in full.
As to the cost of crew and presenters, why not have members of the
poker community present it themselves. It could even be a prize for
a tournament. Instead of play the presenter it could be called play to
be the presenter. I mean if Orford can do it!!! Lol Lol (Only kiddin Rich).
Seriously though there are more than enough suitable candidates on
here who could present a half hour results programme and do a really
good job of it.....
Plus being a guest and actually presenting would be totally different and not many people could do it well.
I also think you would struggle to fill 30mins.
If you go through the previous nights main results, that would fill 5 mins. What would you do for the next 25mins ?
As Acid man states, cost is the problem. It requires the whole gallery crew, sound crew, cameramen, lighting, wardrobe, etc, (about 12 staff in total) + a Presenter &/or Analyst to tx a Show, & be it 15 minutes, or 4 hours, the cost is identical.
If 865 could afford to do that, it could afford to tx Live 7 nights per week, but it just costs too much money to be justified. I'm also not sure that a 15 minute nightly Poker News Show would drive business - which, really, is why the Channel exists.....
