tournement pre-flop bet sizes
Been keeping up with Late Night poker recently on 4OD and I can't understand the pre-flop bet sizing. They are 8-handed and start with 100BBs as per a standard sit n go yet the standard pre-flop raise is almost always between 2 and 3 times the big blind, even on level 1. How do they get respect for such small raises
In the second hand (hand #3) of ep 1 for example a player raises 2.5x with 66 UTG and gets called by KQ (UTG+1) and KT (BB). If I did this at my Tuesday night game there would be at least 5 players to the flop and most would have a lot worse than KTo
Is this considered standard play in the first level of a sit and go and could this be a leak in my game and why I don't do so well? When I make a raise at level 1 to 4.5x in early possition and get three or four callers should I just have made a 2.5x raise and finished with the same result but a pot worth 10BBs rather than 18BBs.
Watching the latest episode with a few more "old school" players the standard seems to be 3x rather than 2x. Is this min-raise thing a new fangled internet thing for kids in hoodies with iPods.
I just feel as though if, durring a MTT at my local casino on a Sunday evening I made a 2x raise at level 1 I would get called by everyone at the table "just to have a look".
Is this something only the pros can get away with when playing against other pros who they know will only call with a plan, not a "fish and see if my 72o gets lucky". Or should I be doing this when playing £5 SnGs too?

Also if your referring to tournys such as the UKIPT they only show from Day 2 on C4.
There more likely to 3 bet light than call light.
Also they do not vary there raise sizes as a general rule so it's alwasy 3 or 2.5 - you will see the raise size is kinda set early doors on the table and everyone follows suit.
If your the aggro player at your local and your always raising try making it 2.7 everytime and after a while everyone will start raising the same.
Players at your local are only playing to hit the flop, so therefore they will call anything whataver the raise size.
You really can't compare the standard of play tbh.
