Getting one good reply in technical area ( from the geek squad) is tonnes better than gettin 100's of replies from the rest of us ordinary mortals.
You will see a few players have had issues over the last few weeks.
Now if Sky say it's not a problem their end then it's probably pointing to a problem with certain ISP's or your systems.
The trouble is there have been a few updates over the past few weeks with Adobe Air and on here which can cause problems.
So once you've eliminated those problems it maybe an idea to give your isp a ring and explain the situation.
if you post the problem you are experiencing in the original thread I'll see wot I can do although I thought you said.
just as a footnote this was the reply from the OP after the advice given....................
"Thanx for the quick responses , ive now got the download runnin again
As mentioned above posting in Technical Queries may get help for certain problems (usually from someone who has posted on this thread!) but problems which only Sky Poker can deal with can only be resolved via customer services.
On a side note Virgin Media have been having issues for the last 2/3 days. Even to the point their Service Status page was offline for nearly 12 hours.
Debs, is your ISP Virgin Media?
I always do the adobe updates etc tho that i have to install on my lappy.
Also you are 100% correct when you say that CS is the proper course but as you know and ive seen on many many occasions a quick post in gpc can have very good advice by others. xx
For this reason it should indeed be included in "General Poker Chat" until the point that the problem has been addressed or resolved or commented on by the techie guys or simply resolved by other members of the community as to whether this is a genuine issue or if it is just an isolated problem.
At this point, it should then be moved to the "Technical Problems" area for its continuation. Peeps can then see if they are having similar issues, how or what to do to resolve the problem.
Its only common sense really in these instances and the thread imo does not need to be moved immediatly but at some point (Once its addressed) will be.
I did not put any details in the tec section because i felt I would be out of my depth with the answers or suggestions - and just continued to put up with "minor" frustrating problems such as the pages nor turning on the forum etc.
I have been unable to access the download - previously working ok) so I have took it out altogether.
I have also been unable to open tables - and have had to sit there fuming whilst my chip stack has been ravaged - we all know that feeling!!!!
Customer Services has been very sympathetic - and did refund one of my entry fees.
i have now been contacted by sky adam - to provide furrther details (which i must admit I find very difficult because the problem is not all the time - but I will try!
I did experience the major problem that many talk talk customers seemed to have a few weeks ago - but things got back to normal - and no seem a little unstable again.
My point is i would have just kept this to myself - and got more and more angry and frustrated if debs had not put this in GPC. i really do think this must be the first point of contact for people to start a discussion as it is the first place i look - and i would guess many users do the same.
