It's a DYM, you're not in danger of getting blinded out, blinds aren't a massive % of stack that it's at shove or fold stage and not even on bubble. If you have QQ+ this play is fine as you have a made hand and will likely be favourite if called w/o hassle of worrying about what flop comes.

If you have AK, you're behind against any pair, so at best racing, and only a small favourite against 8 7 etc. There's no benefit to coming 1st or 3rd, top 3 is all that matters and that means survival, so you want to skew the odds in your favour as much as possible and take as few chances as possible when unnecessary. You put 1640 chips into a pot with 375 chips with what is just a drawing hand basically.

You got sucked out on, but it was an unnecessary risk in the 1st place without sufficient reward should you have won.

Thanks for replying BRC, and thanks for posting Shanx.

I think I would still advocate the shove cos raising just risks bleeding more chips, as oppo is far more likely to call a raise than a shove - and most times we miss the flop as above.

only thing u can do withh 11bbs is shove with ak cant call or fold hand played fine vul with the big stacks terrible call
