edited November 2011 in The Poker Clinic

Four of us left - I'm UTG with 930 chips and big stack on the button has 9500 chips. What now and why?

fold it, sb + bb will have to go all in

the bb will have to call any shove
    btn may just shove
if unopened the sb has to shove and bb has to call

win win for you to fold

Thanks to all replies so far, keep em coming.

EDIT - previous hand big stack had shoved with 88 into bb who was all-in; so I wasn't sure if he was calling with any 2.

I only had 930 chips utg - it was big stack on button who had 9500.

Or is that what you mean, he's got 9500 so I should get it in? If so, why?

Not sure if i understand the stacks here, but your with 930 and 2nd out of 4?

If so it looks like a straight forward fold, your shoving range needs to be super small here i think, even with going througth the blinds next hand, dosnt matter how tight the big stack is. If the big stack is sitting out and the blinds are calling unusually tight then you could push unless fold it man.

Yeah its not so much your chips here but your position in tournament (2nd out of 4) and your small amount of FE and the likelyhood of allin action when you fold anyway that are the main factors in making this a fold.

Obviously if your sitting with 4.5bb and your 4th out of 4 AT is the nuts but as it is it is no were near good enougth
