UKOPS MAIN EVENT - LIVE ON 865 (with James, Trevor & Barry Carter)

The tournament starts at 7pm.

The TV show starts at 9pm.

It's going to be an awesome night: four hours of live coverage of (what will probably be) the biggest tournament in Sky Poker history.

Trevor will be analysing the action with the able assistance of special guest star Barry Carter.

If you have any questions for Barry, or would like to provide a succinct review of his book 'The Mental Game of Poker', e-mail skyopen@bskyb.com or post in this forum thread.

    Series was good.

    Yes semi regular UKOP's would be good. 

    Try and increase the number of turbo sats and sats closer to the start of tournaments. Don't increase starting stack but then also increase the first blind level. Also a late reg facility would make the rebuys play better imo because of the lack of buyins/rebuys/addons the stacks were very shallow nearer the end of the tourney (sick I went deep barg).

    Favourite event - the PLO which I didn't play because it meant I couldn't lose money!

    Highlight- Doing AA vs KK vs QQ and holding to take Browndog out one of the UKOPs :D

    Biggest inability is the whole 'winning' thing grrrrrr

    Can't wait to win tonights Main event :-p (edit by win I mean 2nd....)

    What should we do differently next time? The levels/structures were too fast.  You can't double the number of chips but then also just double the blind levels so they play just like a normal ME

    What was your highlight of the week? Cashing in UKOPS6
    Which part of your game has the series highlighted as your greatest assest / biggest flaw? I'm good at hitting cards in Turbo Rebuys

    late reg for 2ish levels. 
    late reg in rebuys until the addon.
    1r1a tournies (players pay less rake :) )
    step esque satelites
    turbo sats running up to each event
    a seperate section of lobby so the UKOPs event no matter how far in advance are easy to see
    the ability to open a lobby for a main event and see a list of sats that you can reg for it
    an auto add on button so you cant miss the addon
    some 6 man some 9 man tournies
    potentially some 2 day tournies so that they can have longer structures but no one has to have a stupildy late night on a worknight or anything
    some winner take all comps!
    a pot button preflop in PLO!

    really really enjoyed watching this series, and my brief outing in event 2.

    things that would be good for next time...

    velocity event, with no rebuys

    Hilo event

    Hu event

    A 55 quid BH event

    A 10 seater nlhe deepstack event

    Defo more sats throughout the week, not just on the days of the relevant mtt. maybe have tickets u can use for any event as a prize in a sat.

    What should we do differently next time?

    More sats. Have sats running everyday for every event too and not jus on the day the event is running. Also some sit and go sats would be nice.

    Which was your favourite event?

    Watching the high roller was good.

    What was your highlight of the week?

    See above.

    I need to learn how to run better in the sats.

    What did you think of the series? Excellent

    Would you like to see another UKOPS in the first few months of 2012? Yes but I wouldn't want this to become any more frequent than twice annually

    What should we do differently next time?  I'd like to see a standard shoot out or DYM style shoot out event, a STT based MTT where either 1 or 3 from each table progress.  Also a much slower structured PLO freezeout.

    Which was your favourite event?  High Roller

    What was your highlight of the week?  18Bite winning event 2 and RossJB FTing the Highroller.  Two low stakes players taking advantage of the many satellites and binking a massive score.

    Which part of your game has the series highlighted as your greatest asset / biggest flaw?  Asset - I'm decent with a deep stack and slow structure.  Flaw - I suffer badly from positive tilt.

    Yes, but not to frequent maybe 2 series per year

    What should we do differently next time?
    HU Event, PLO KO (bounty) event, SNG style satellites, or shootout sats with a couple seats gtd.

    Which was your favourite event?
    Event 2 PLO

    What was your highlight of the week?
    Having 3 deep runs with 2 cashes overall out of the 4 events i played

    Which part of your game has the series highlighted as your greatest assest / biggest flaw?
    Biggest Flaw: Not being able to get the job done in the plo and instead just making the money.
    Biggest Asset: being able to keep calm with a short stack instead of just punting it off

    only thing i,d do differently is give it a bigger build up . It seemed a bit rushed and its over before you know it - Also more time for satelites

    Q for Trev  - Did he have a bet on the Champs league this season before it started ?

    Evening Gents,

     
             Great Series, better than anyone thought before the first hands were delt; it's raised the profile of the site and the TV channel - I was in a local village pub at 7pm on Friday and 2 guys were chatting about being in the main event tonight.

              If no one has mentioned it how about a seat at either the SPT final or a GUKPT seat for the best performance of the series, judged by Lord Tony of Duckington.

            Still in the ME as I type and have made(for me) 2 hugh laydowns (56139 & 65220) does this mean I've learn't a few lessons from the live shows.

      Enjoy the ride

    Very good concept that certainly in my eyes has been a success.

    Would you like to see another UKOPS in the first few months of 2012?
    Yeah why not.

    What should we do differently next time?
    Possibly include a heads-up UKOPS event and say for example should the number of events be increased to 10 also make room for a 1 table Champion of Champions event winner takes all and the winner gets a place on Team Sky Poker and free seats into EVERY leg (Including the Grand Final) of next seasons Sky Poker Tour 12/13

    UKOPS 2 (Omaha)

    What was your highlight of the week?
    Don't have one as the 3 events I played in (including the Main Event tonight) I did badly in all 3 and didn't cash in any.

    Which part of your game has the series highlighted as your greatest assest / biggest flaw?
    I can't really say the series has highlighted anything about my game good or bad as I didnt go deep in any although In my eyes I still remain World Moaning Champion!!

    UKOPS - i would like to give huge credit to those who had the courage to take the risk.  it has proved a superb decision.  congratulations to the suits in skypoker.  i hope that this gives great confidence to take another big step forward next year.

    Just tuned in to hear someone asking aboout SPT leg 2

    I was wondering about Leg 6 in Blackpool - The £200 Bounty Hunter

    Will it be 50% on ppls heads or less ?

    Didn't get to play any of the events, but the feedback I've seen on the site and people's comments has been mostly positive.

    Would you like to see another UKOPS in the first few months of 2012?

    Would love to see another series and hopefully take part next time around as well.

    What should we do differently next time?

    Possibly include a cheaper event (Maybe £11 buy-in?) so that players with smaller bankrolls can buy in directly. A large field which this event would would also work well with the 2-day event idea in a previous e-mail.

    I would also like to see something other than 6 max televised, too.

    Which was your favourite event?

    I enjoyed the high roller coverage most.

    What was your highlight of the week?

    The Tikay programme before the high roller, especially Orford getting smacked by a stray branch :)

    Which part of your game has the series highlighted as your greatest assest / biggest flaw?

    Didn't play so can't really answer.

    best things about it

    1. tv coverage
    2. real money - with great opposition (ie not a lot of fish) - so real play not a casino

    what next - you need to do some more high stakes events really quick - players now have the taste for it and you don't want them playing away
