I know that he is in Vegas for the next 2-3 weeks, so maybe they thought it was best to take it down as to not create a massive backlog/people getting angry thinking hes ignoring them by not answering questions when instead he is taking a very well deserved holiday.

We're investigating but I personally think a random IT gremlin might have killed the thread, which would be very annoying if true...

This 'name and shame' thing never happens on Sky, nor will it ever. That and the gremlin could be IT-related rather than a person.

I'm going to lock the thread and I'll reopen when we're in a position to inform you.

I beg to differ,I remember a certain person being named n shamed for being silly in a thread ,You closed it after 4 days...

Just to add to Dave's comments, the thread just plum disappeared. I'm pretty disappointed, & that's an understatement, & in truth, I really loved it, even though I could not always reply in a timely fashion, & a lot of time went into it, & on the whole, a handful of bad losers apart, everyone respected the Thread.

But these things happen, whatever caused it to disappear was accidental, or not intended, so no point getting upset. I know they are trying very hard to "recover" it from the ether somehow.

To give you an update on this, it looks like the thread was indeed wiped from the site. It seems it could be resurrected though. We've got some techie guys looking in to it now. While it's not a certainty, I think we're looking at at A-K v A-J kind of situation here.
