Prepare yourselves for a BIG night on Sky Poker this Thursday.

Sitting in the guest chair to give us his thoughts on the play in The Sky Roller and The Sky Sports Bounty Hunter will be one of the most outspoken, controversial and talented players in the world...

    LUKE SCHWARTZ!

Here's the headlines on the man from Wiki...

Luke Schwartz is a professional poker player from London, England.

Schwartz's first cash was at the Grosvenor World Masters in 2005 where he won £3,900 for his eighth place finish in the £1,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event. Since then, he has only had a few other results, including £10,850 at the 2005 Harbour Lights in Brighton.

Schwartz is best known for his online prowess, especially on Full Tilt Poker where he plays under the moniker __FullFlush1__. He started off grinding ring games in 2005 but went broke several times before winning the Sunday Million in 2007. After this win, Schwartz went back to the cash tables. In recent times, he has taken on some of the biggest names in online poker such as Urindanger, durrrr, and Ziigmund, at the biggest stakes.

What has perhaps garnered more attention is his outspoken nature, both on and off the table. He regards himself as the best tournament player around, and even made his claim at the Monte Carlo High Rollers event to the rest of his table, which included Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey.

In December 2009, Schwartz was chip leader heading into the Poker Million VIII final table, and eventually finished fourth collecting prize money of $150,000. Schwartz had previously won his heat in the Poker Million VIII, overcoming a table of Bill Edler, Mark Vos and Tony G, before coming from behind to defeat John Duthie heads-up. He then navigated a semi-final featuring Annette Obrestad and Tony Bloom to secure his place in the final.

Schwartz is currently a blogger. His comments, many of which divide audiences, are often cited on forums.

Love him or hate him, we are talking UNMISSABLE TV here!

Spread the word and tune in to Channel 865 with your hosts Sarah and Carlo this Thursday night from 8. It's gonna be massive!

Theres always talk about some ppl being to loud and cocky at the tables , but you do need players who,s passion can be shown clearly and I like the way he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Always enteratining to watch

Regarding the below statmenet from his Wiki page about him being the best tournament player out there .  Was this taken out of context ? or do you truly belive you are the best touney player on the circuit today?

    Paul  aka MP

Q for Luke - Whats your plans and targets for  the coming year?  and have you ever being compared to Sam Razavi? I used to think you were the same person in the way you look and sound

    GL and enjoy the show

Thank you God, thank you Rich, thank you Sky.

Legend. Very funny guy and very astute in his poker commentary based on what I heard on the HU programme on the other channel.

I'm now forsaking my Thursday night live game for this. Sky, I love you for this.

    Woo-hoo!!!

He's not going to turn up now, is he?

    Questions for Luke..

What does he think of Tom 'Durrr' Dwan? lol.

On a more serious note, his apparentely a HU specialist so would be interested in getting alot of tips.

How does he cope with players that consistantly limp from the sb/d seat, what sort of hands would he be raising with instead of checking. i keep checking marginal hands like k5 a5 etc and catching a piece of the flop like an ace or king .to then realise his holding a better hand.

Also how would he handle someone who consistantly min bets the flop, turn and river. Even if they have the nuts. i keep thinking my 2nd pair is good when its not.

    look forward to the show

I really cant wait! Sick guest will defo be watching the show tonight have a good one

    Question for Luke:
Which British player do you think has the best chance of winning a WSOP ME, heres the catch your not allowed to say yourself ;)
  • edited November 2011
I detest the man (and I use that term loosely) with a passion because of his views on other pros and his own sense of self importance but I feel strangely drawn to 865 tonight. Mainly to see what outragous remarks he could come out with.
  • edited November 2011
Well, there's no doubt this is a calculated gamble. But if you're looking for forthright views and no-nonsense opinions then you're in for a good one tonight.

I think Luke will be superb- all I ask is: don't try and tilt him for the sake of it!

The man's done so much in poker he's well worth asking his views on everything- this guy regularly takes on Tom Dwan online at the very highest levels for crying out loud!
