Hi All,
We'd like to get your thoughts on something which we are considering changing, it's how the cash table lobby sorts its tables.
We think this change is logical and better than the existing sorting, but since it's always worked this way we dont want to go ahead without your thoughts!
To explain the current sorting
It default sorts by stakes, ascending, as a primary sort (0.02/£0.04. 0.08/0.16 etc
It then applies a secondary sort of players seated ascending (0, 1 , 2 etc which means tables with empty seats appear at the top of the lobby in that bliknd limit)
Then a slightly randomised tertiary sort of seats at the table (10, 6, 2)
If you sort by stakes descending, then all of the above is then reversed (so empty tables appear at the bottom)
Thats the boring definition out of the way and perhaps a bit confusing, so basically it would sort tables as follows, all are at a given limit, e.g. £0.50/£1.00
(Players seated/Seats available)
0/2
0/6
0/10
1/2
1/6
2/2
3/10
3/6
3/6
5/6
5/10
6/6
6/6
6/6
6/6
8/10
10/10
We are proposing to change this to group tables at each limit with the same number of seats (2,6,10), so above would look like this for £0.50/£1.00
0/2
1/2
2/2
0/6
1/6
3/6
3/6
5/6
6/6
6/6
6/6
6/6
0/10
3/10
5/10
8/10
10/10
Also we'd be interested to know how many of you use the 'Hide Full tables' filter at the bottom of the lobby and also how many of you use the lobby filter pop up (bottom right corner of the lobby) to remove heads up/6 max tables depending on what you want to play?
Apologies for the long post - not particularly easy to explain on the forum - any feedback welcome as always, maybe you are just happy how it is? or maybe not?
Best Wishes
Sky Poker Team

Although what i would like, which you cant get anywhere else and i dont even know if its possible, but id like to be able to remove all tables from view bar the levels i want.
This would be good to help encourage good BRM.
I do like the look of the new way of sorting the tables. I personally think it would be better.
2p/4p 1/6
2p/4p 3/6
2p/49 5/6
10p/20p 2/6
10p/20p 4/6
25p/50p 5/6
50p/£1 3/6
50p/£1 5/6
2p/4p 0/6
2p/4p 6/6
2p/4p 6/6
2p/4p 6/6
4p/8p 0/6
4p/8p 6/6
5p/10p 0/6
5p/10p 6/6
etc.
That would drive me daft.
If your gunna change something make it so it saves my settings when i filter!!!
keep it as it is pls
can something like 1table per stake level per person upto a max of 'x' (4 is a good number) be implemented?
there can quite often be />40 tables of HU nl200+ like this with people often having many HU tables open despite the fact that they could only probably play 2-4 of them simultaneously.
get auto-top up instead

im personaly v happy wiyh the way it is showen now
I would say leave same too, as for hu tables you can filter them out.
with a capped # of HU tables it not only makes the lobby alot more appealing ..(its pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain whats going on with all these people sitting at HU but not playing against each other) but it also makes it alot fairer for the people sat HU so they dont have to open a billion tables to get a similar sized slice of the pie so to speak
cap table spawning at each level to 6-7(like 100nl atm) so you actually have people competing for spots when site is busy so you don't attract more hu leeches who only play recreational players (it's getting worse and worse if you haven't noticed somehow)
cap 1 empty table per limit for each player
maybe then 6max won't be as dead as it is atm
As for bumhunting, yes everyone you see hu is bum hunting to a certain extent. Some more than others, I think the title of biggest bum hunter is still weareontv lol. But I have no problem with that good luck to him. 99% of 6 max players are bum hunting to a certain extent again some more than others. A 6 max game only gets going when there is a guy there whos spends money. Poker is no different to any other business there needs to be someone spending money or there is no game.
Book makers are bum hunters. If you show a profit at sports betting they ban or restrict you. Did I read sky did this with gadgerno over rugby betting (might be wrong was a few months ago I read it).
As for me if i dont think I can make a profit in a game I dont play, would love to play any game but thats the reality of playing for a living.
Oh and my final point I think more regs would take each other on if the rake wasnt so high. Time and time again I take someone on hu at 100 or 200nl. We play for 20 min or so and we have paid 20 pound in rake between us. If there was no rake (never going to happen i know) there would be very few people I wouldnt play.
The pro's and con's of the current situation and most of the ideas suggested so far on this thread are already being debated internally, we definitely wont be rushing into making any changes to such a key part of the poker room.
Please feel free to keep feeding back on here and debating between yourselves, it's really useful for us to get your opinions and thoughts on something like this and it's an interesting topic.
Have a great weekend guys
Kind Regards
Adam
P.S. Andrew: that was an interesting discussion at DTD, i'll respond to your pm early next week
