Thursday night live with Sarah, Carlo and special guest LUKE SCHWARTZ *****official show thread*****

edited November 2011 in Poker Chat
*sharp intake of breath*

We are LIVE tonight on 865 and Sky Sports 4 with special guest
Luke Schwartz! I know Orf's started a thread on this but any questions/comments for Luke please do post them below.

(Should I bring a bleeper machine???  If it's my last night on live telly tonight it's been fun folks!)

In all seriousness, known for his online prowess and arguably better for his outspoken nature Schwartz is bound to be a great guest so please do get involved tonight either by posting on this thread or via email to skyopen@bskyb.com

In other controversial news this week the tabloids have been full of a certain X Factor contestant breaking a 'golden rule' but in your opinion:

What are the 'golden rules' of poker?

We'll be sure to ask Luke his...

Wish us luck

Sarah xx

Hi Sarah, Carlo, and welcome Luke

Golden poker rules, one has to be good bankroll management

    Good luck Sarah!

I'll cut you a deal. If Luke turns out to be a fantastic guest as I suspect he will, then I'll take the credit for getting him on the show.

If he swears like an old sailor in the first five minutes, then I'll give you full credit for getting him on the show and thanks for your time at Sky Poker!

    ;-)

Seriously, looking forward to this show!

Question for Luke- what on earth were you doing in the gym the other day?

Is this a new healthy regime considering how many hours you must spend sat in front of your computer playing poker?

    Hi everyone

Quick question for Luke regarding his appeareance on Late Night Poker

His final hand vs Romanello. he (Romanello) three barelled bluffed with ace high, first question,

    1) how did u call the all in, did u have a strong read/inkling that Romanello wanted to push you around; your table talk sugested you thought you were behnd.

    and

    2) Being that u were guaranteed to go to the final ( short stack or not ), did that have any bearing on your decision to call the all in.

    Thx

He must of heard about the new machine that they have got.

It's great, it does crisps, chocky bars, sweeties, everything ;)

Can't wait for the show guys, have a good one!

Have a good show everyone.  Good luck with your future Sarah.  Does this mean there is a place for a new presenter on Sky Poker?  If there is may I suggest Davina McCall?  I don't think she is doing anything at the moment and I would pay to watch her first show with Tikay :)

My golden rule in online poker is pay no attention to people moaning about getting bad beats and screaming abuse at you for hitting your runner runner gutshot straight to beat their set of aces.  They are just trying to get you to tilt.

    Golden rules of poker.....

My golden rule in poker - don't play drunk on the cash tables & end up bluffing everything away :)

Questions for Luke from other threads-

    MP33-
Theres always talk about some ppl being to loud and cocky at the tables , but you do need players who,s passion can be shown clearly and I like the way he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Always enteratining to watch

Regarding the below statmenet from his Wiki page about him being the best tournament player out there .  Was this taken out of context ? or do you truly belive you are the best touney player on the circuit today?

    Paul  aka MP

What has perhaps garnered more attention is his outspoken nature, both on and off the table. He regards himself as the best tournament player around, and even made his claim at the Monte Carlo High Rollers event to the rest of his table, which included Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey.

Q for Luke - Whats your plans and targets for  the coming year?  and have you ever being compared to Sam Razavi? I used to think you were the same person in the way you look and sound

    GL and enjoy the show

    Questions for Luke..

What does he think of Tom 'Durrr' Dwan? lol.

On a more serious note, his apparentely a HU specialist so would be interested in getting alot of tips.

How does he cope with players that consistantly limp from the sb/d seat, what sort of hands would he be raising with instead of checking. i keep checking marginal hands like k5 a5 etc and catching a piece of the flop like an ace or king .to then realise his holding a better hand.

Also how would he handle someone who consistantly min bets the flop, turn and river. Even if they have the nuts. i keep thinking my 2nd pair is good when its not.

    look forward to the show

Yeah I am looking forward to it tonight... all I'll say is good luck to Carlo!

    Golden Rule

a very clever man once said... poker is a never ending game lol.

But seriously, if you wanna be profitable long term (assuming you're good at the game) bankroll management is EVERYTHING. Without it, you can be Phil Ivey but if you sit at a cash table with half your bankroll and get 2 coolers or bad beats, you're gone.

Got to agree that a major rule of poker is good bankroll management, without it you are always gonna go bust at some point.

Question for Luke. How did you first get into poker and how long was it before you became a winning player and also what was the major turning point in improving your game from a beginner?

    Cheers guys!

    Hi gang, great show.

    Question for luke

If you could sit down and play a game of poker with any 5 other poker pros(living or deceased), who would you pick?

Also are you still friends Tom Dwan?
  • edited November 2011
Hi everyone, really enjoying the show! Question for luke, when you dont have reads on your opponents, do you try to read them based on what an average player would do, or do you stay out there way until you know there tendencies?

    Question to Luke Schwartz:

Jungleman has recently issued a 'challenge to the world' which is a heads up game coming up in December in Prague which I'm sure you know about. I understand you two are good friends however have you been thinking about taking him on; or if you wasnt friends with him would that sway you more into accepting the challenge?

Seen as it's the topic of the night... what is your golden rule of poker? And what do you believe is your biggest strength in the game?

You mention being aggressive and timing your aggression, what do you do however when you start getting card dead, especially during tournament  play.

    Hi Carlo

I have no exciting story about where my alias came from

My surname is Sneddon and my nickname is Snedds.

There were already a few versions of Snedds when I joined a few other sites and SuperSnedds was the option I took.  I have just carried this forward when I joined Sky.
