Staking Sites

edited November 2011 in Poker Chat
I have being suprised at the lack of sites offering players to buy and sell stakes of their action

In such a booming industry I would have thought this type of site would be a huge hit if run properly, but the ones i,ve been to and have been reccomended seem to out of date and not very well run

Ami just looking in the wrong places ?

Ps - There are a cpl of sites I was looking at , but it seems now you have to actually play on those sites and on some have to sign up to sites through their links. If your already a member its tough.

    Some people, when staked with money they wouldn't normally be able to afford, tend to;

    play outside the agreed limits (losing the given bankroll)
    don't adhere to stop losses when tilting (losing the given bankroll)
    sometimes deceive the staker by 'skimmimg' where profits are dumped off to a 3rd party and are not shared with the staker

    Staking requires a huge level of trust, sometimes with a complete stranger. Money, unfortunately, can make even the most trustworthy person subversive and corrupt, and the two never well go well together. If you add the anonymity of the internet to the equation, you can see how an online staking site will rarely do well.

    Obviously, on occasion, a staker will find a good trustworthy horse and have a long and healthy business relationship. I don't feel that this is the norm though.

    MMmmmm  _ Might set up a thread somewhere in Punters Corner just for staking

    I would only charge 10% of all transactions for my time

    I know what you mean though , but if people can build up trust like on ebay I wouldn,t mind seeing some new well organised sites being set up in the future
