fold when getting 392 to 1 pot odds!!!

The way that this guy pushed all in like this with a short stack and the fact that it's NL4 made me think I wasn't against a pair and therefore I was ahead. I'm closing the action so based on my read I think it's marginally ok to call his all in. Only once the flop came did I realise that he had infact left himself 1p back! I bet 4p to get it over with and the guy snap folds. Could someone please explain this?
