Sounds a great idea mate. I hope Sky will provide us with a winning price for the first HU Championship.

    Evening All,

    I've heard so many people on here want a HU competition (me included) and seen as Sky aint got round to doing it yet, I thought I should arrange something between us forum folk.

    My idea is basically a knockout tournament, 64 players, so we'll have 32 matches in the first round (best of 3 in £1.05 HU games) the winner will progress to round 2 and so on, here's the full breakdown I have in mind...

    Round 1 - 64 players - Best of 3 (£1.05s)
    Round 2 - 32 players - Best of 3 (£1.05s)
    Round 3 - 16 players - Best of 3 (£2.10s)
    Round 4 - 8 players   - Best of 3 (£2.10s)
    Round 5 - 4 players   - Best of 3 (£3.15s)
    Round 6 - 2 players   - Best of 5 (£5.25s)

    I'll have to have a word with the powers that be to see if we can get a prize for winning this and maybe a runner up prize.

    Despite the very high level of interest in this competition, I have sadly had to set a cap of 64 players to ensure it finishes this side of Christmas and is managable. I'm sure we can arrange something bigger and better for the new year, and the champion can try to retain his crown.

    A Tip from IrishRover to avoid random joiners

    Both players should sit in a freeplay HU table, from here, one should open the £1 HU game and let the other player know they have done so, the other player can then join straight away which should limit the risk of random joiners. I also suggest that people stick to 1 table at a time, so that you can just click on re-match at the end without danger of random joiners.

    We also now have a Facebook group courtesy of DJBlack which is a great way to chat with other members and set up your heads up games to avoid random joiners.

    Big congratulations to Salad24 for taking it down, Splashies for getting to the final and everyone else who took part and made it run smoothly.

    My apologies for delay in info over the prizes but hopefully I can agree with Tikay some prizes for the next one we have and then we can now right from the outset for the next competition.

    Turbocharged is a good structure with loads of play, it will stop it being a crapshoot.

    Is it a good point Dohhhh and something I was considering... I really don't want it to be crapshoot, that's why I made it best of 3 to avoid there being 1 cooler to to decide it or something of the like. I know you like your HU games Dohhhh so could you tell me what the structures for the 3 are... I definitely didn't want do hypers... do you think the regulars are too slow?

    What does everyone think?

    to play 3 regular games "could" take up to 2 hours.......with 2 tight/nitty/conservative players.....

    I reckon either best of 5 turbos... (50 mins max for 5 games, prob over within half an hour)

    OR, best of 3 turbos, if it goes 1-1, make the decider a standard structure HU sng.

    Well I did mean, people might wanna play the first 2 games at the same time (multi-tabling) but theres no point multi-tabling 3 cos you might lose the first 2 so you're out. But yeah I'll be single tabling to give it my full concentration but it will be single tabling unless BOTH players agree otherwise.

    Just so everyone knows, I will literally write everyone's name on bits of paper and pull them out to draw fixtures, it's the fairest way I can do it :)

    No... it is best of 3, so if it goes 2-0 there is no point playing the last one. That's why I said people should not load up 3 HUs at once cos the third one might not be necessary.

    My thinking was that we get about 100ish people for the DTD but not all of them will wanna play HU SnGs
