SPT Newcastle

Hi does anyone know how long it takes to walk from the train/bus station to Aspers Casino?  Also if I wear a smart pair of jeans and trainers, is this dress code ok for this casino? Thanks.

    T. K.  Zippy64 has qualified again with just under a pound left in account, this has got to be some sort of record. Hopefully I can do better than 15 th this year

hi agb...   dont worry you're on the list.  you'll get a confirmation email in two weeks.  there will also ba a thread here in the days before the event.  chillax.  and well done.

del... your questions.. walking time from the station and trainers?  if you jog from the station it will take 5 mins.  if you are of seb coe standard i think you could do it in 2 minutes.

    Hi All,
To answer some of the questions,
    1. it takes about 10 mins to walk from the station.
    2. there will be more than 130 players, as there is normally some seats for the casino to have a live qualifier and some seats for Sky guest, so its normally about 150, then alternatives.
    3. the tournament starts at 2pm, but most of the regulars meet from 12noon(depending how drunk they get fri night.
    4. you might want to bring some photo id with you, just incase, your not an Aspers member(or you can ring the casino to check).

Dont know area, lol, but I just booked The Newgate Hotel, 50 yards from casino, free parking, & close to china town & Tiger Tiger!!
Double with breakfast 75/nite, as ive paid 35-80 quid before at SPT's for just parking & cabs, that does me!! There were still rooms at 8am this morning [mon5-12-11]

few othes in a place called The Osborne hotel, think bit cheaper
