There's nothing that I can see that stands out today, but for those looking for a bet, there are possibilities about LILAC BELLE in the mares' handicap hurdle at Leicester (3.15). She has yet to finish closer than sixth, but has shown a glimmer of promise on a couple of occasions and probably produced her best effort to date on her reappearance at Lingfield, held up off a steady pace and making good headway approaching two out before being left behind by better quality horses thereafter, not at all knocked about. That race is starting to work out well, with the third and fifth finishing first and second in a 17-runner novice hurdle over the same course and distance next time, and the fourth winning impressively at Towcester on her next start. Lilac Belle makes her handicap debut off a feasible-looking mark here, and although she has shaped as if 2m will be a maximum for her, the better ground should help conserve her stamina. 2pts win 6/1
