Please excuse my ignorance here, BUT...  

What exactly are the Alternative Entries...? AND, is it a case of just turning up @ Aspers (on the night) and putting my name on a list and hoping for the best.....?

Alternates enter a competition, in SPT's case for the first 2 or 3 levels only, when one of the original starters is knocked out

For us, we open the list at midday on the day, and reserves/alterantes are placed into the tournament as and when players depart, in the order that they go on the reserve list

There are no guarantees, but we usually get 5-10 extra players in this way
