Have to bet a lot bigger on the flop, around £3 IMO. He's raised pre, so it's almost certain that he's got a piece of that flop, and if he's raised with an ace, he'll probably call a fairly big bet on the flop too. You can then also look to bet the turn bigger to try and stack him when the brick comes and you've still got the nuts.

The only time the 7's on the turn and the river actually make any difference to the outcome of the hand is if he's got a 7 in his hand (Unlikely), or if he's flopped a set and the running 7's give him a full house.

His 2 calls on the flop and turn looks quite like a flush draw - I think if he had anything else, he'd re-raise the flop because of the hearts and straight draws out, and shove rather than just call off a third of his stack on the turn?

For those reasons, as well as the fact it's only £9 to win £36, I think I'd call on the river. Tough spot, but you're only in that spot because of the size of the bet on the flop.

like pingu said, he played it like a drawing hand up to the river, i had no notes on him but i think most would get it in before the river if they had a made hand like a set or 2 pair as it is a very wet board. with the amount in the pot already and no notes i sigh called and was plesantly suprised
