    well i suppose if u always get it in as a 38% underdog u are going to win a few .:)

    keep calling :).....
  • edited January 2012

    yes a 38% chance of winning, but i think you'll find that betting 1,705 to win a return of 4,130 is a 41% profitable action
    .

    ;-)

    you have forgotten that you were short stacked in a bounty hunter and your head prize is added into the equation.  next time you are in a bounty hunter you should factor in your head prize, it will save you so much anguish.  chillax man.  chill babe.

    i am planning to spend your £8 head prize tonight towards a bottle of wine in a restaurant this evening.  cheers and thanks.  lol

    wow when I first read this I assumed it must have been just a 2/5 quid buy in donk-around...

    But 8 quid head prize!!!! wow! lolol

    At least you're spending it wisely although 10 cans is better value imo ;)

    hi dohhhhhhh, i had in mind that a post from you would be good.  djblacke is on the front foot as he didn't like his AK losing in this manner.  i have only been trying to defend and explain the mathematics and that it really isn't an area51 happening.... if anything it's a flip, if getting off the fence it's a positive play.   but i value your opinion.

    the way i see it is 34 gives you so many options! very underated hand i feel.

    DJ has been the first to criticise players in the past for over-valuing Ace King.

    "why are you putting 60xbb in with Ace high ??? ........."

    you call off when behind, and now trying to justify calling a 4 bet with 34 by saying its maths?

    heres how your hand looks against a standard 4bet range

     equity  win  tie        pots won  pots tied
    Hand 0:  28.906%   28.65%  00.26%        16678464     150097.50   { 4h3h }
    Hand 1:  71.094%   70.84%  00.26%        41239677     150097.50   { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

    not even close to a profitable call.

    1700 more to win an increase of 2400? I'm open to reasoning as to why we should treat it as 1700 more to win 4100 when in reality the increase of our stack is only 2400.

    Quick calc, think its ok.

    (-1700 x 71%) + (2400 x 29%) =
    -1207 + 696 =
    -511

    I like your play here Rob.

    It is a bounty hunter and when you made the call you also had another player behind you with chips already in the pot. And with his stack size he could easily have called too with a wide range.

    34 suited plays well against two opponents IMO. You could have had a fish supper with your wine.
