    I found a selection of poker quotes which were judged to be the top 10 about the game. I thought they were pretty good to be honest, so here they are for you to enjoy. But which quotes/wisdom would you add to the list?

    It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don't let anyone tell you different. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside.

    I've noticed "joke" is commonly used in some quarters these days, in relation to some aspect of the actual beautiful game - poker.

    The varying degrees of joke...

    "It's a joke!" (although when it's used I fail to see the joke bit)

    "It's an absolute joke!" (not sure what the difference with regular joke is)

    "It's beyond a joke!"
